The android-based home automation system will prove itself to be extremely worthy for people who get tired and irritated of having to turn the electrical loads on/off by using the electrical sockets. Also, people with some disabilities or those who are handicapped find it really difficult to reach the electrical socket. This system will let you control all of your home appliances through a single android application. The app will offer an efficient GUI so that it’s easy for even handicapped people to control and operate it.
We are making this project for it to be extremely convenient for disabled persons as well as the elderly in the homes who might face difficulties while doing the daily simplest tasks as turning on a light. We’re aiming to provide an Android application through which the electrical loads of the entire home could be managed easily such as turning the lights on and off, regulating the fans, knowing the current temperature, fire alarm alerts, etc. Additionally, the document is being written so that the user properly understands what we’re intending to do and what’s the main purpose of our application.
We’re utilizing Agile process model as with Agile software development, we’ll be able to adapt to requirements changes rather at a faster rate so that it won’t affect the release dates. Also, the Agile model assists in minimizing technical debt, mainly focuses on customer satisfaction and helps us in trying to reach perfection in our product’s quality. Agile method will divide the entire process into small incremental builds which are basically provided in iterations. Each iteration can require about one to three weeks.

The main focus of this project is to control the electrical loads in homes, industries, companies, etc., using your android device. As we know, it can get tiring and frustrating by having to operate the electrical switches manually every time. Additionally, it’s a crucial issue for people with kind of disabilities or handicapped people. This system will let you control the electricity load at the ease of your own smartphone. Also, through infrared sensors, it would tell us about the current room temperature and will be extremely beneficial when used in fire alarms as GPS sensor would also be used to tell the exact location where the fire has occurred.
