Project Title

An IOT Based Efficient Energy Management System For Industrial Facility

Project Area of Specialization Electrical/Electronic EngineeringProject Summary

Since we know it is the era of automation the operation and the design of technical processes are increasing swiftly. This development of expanding process automation was caused by an increasing demand on the process operation from the performance and the product quality and more efficiency in the system. The automation in every field of life is taking a proper charge this automation may cause many errors and humans are unable to detect that kind of faults, so this automation requires more efficient and more accurate supervision. The automatic supervision in the past was mostly realized by limit checking of some important process variables like current, voltage. Usually, alarms are raised if any fault occur like current or voltage raise from its specific value. But our moto is to change this kind of typical way of fault detection. Our vision is to create a proper modern fault detection method which will analysis the problem of a system and the detection of fault and will give a proper modern solution to remove the fault.

Project Objectives

Objectives of project are as following:

•To analyze and improve system harmonics and power factor.
•To develop a system for data logging and monitoring for Industrial machinery at Point ofCommon Coupling.
9
•To develop a Portable IOT based system for making conventional machine smarter.
•To develop a fault detection system using modern techniques for each machine/sub-system.

Project Implementation Method

1- develop an LC filter for harmonics improvment

2- develop capacitor bank for power factor improvment

3- develop an Iot system for remote monitoring

4- Indentify faults.

Benefits of the Project

The available systems are designed and intended for a predefined number of consumers and systems don’t allow much room for expansion thus our system is overloaded which also results in degradation of power quality. This project is about designing a system for removing harmonic distortion produced by nonlinear loads in a power system to improve the power losses of the system an application-based Internet of Things (IOT) technology will monitor the data of the system in industry. Using modern techniques designed apparatus will detect the fault in our system using sensors. The basic objective is to design a system that will detect distortions and correct them, also detect fault in system and generate an alarm/intimation. The energy analyzer will detect the distortion in the waveform supplied, filter will remove the distortion by cancelling or. generating a new waveform and inject them into system to reduce current and voltage harmonics according to the IEEE standards. When fault appear in
system, sensor will detect and show an indicator and with the help of Internet of Things (IOT) one can monitor faults and other energy parameters remotely
