a tester will be developed for the trainer aircraft. An avionics suite of trainer aircraft contains multiple sensor’s data and navigation system. A GUI based Multi- Functional
Display (MFD) is being used to display all relevant data to pilot in cockpit. A faulty MFD can end up switching off or showing erroneous data on display which can lead to
a fatal disaster for both pilot and plane.
The task is to check the proper working of MFD and associated avionics components when a specified signal or signals are transmitted to it. In this way
output will define the validation of device serviceability.
Following steps will be followed in project :-
1. Understanding the principles of sensors
2. Understanding data protocol for MFD of trainer aircraft
3. Finding techniques to develop a software tester
4. Software/Hardware based simulation of tester and validation of sensors data
Benefits of the ProjectThis project will help in validation of message signal and its transmission to MFD.
It will help to trouble shoot problems in a generic avionics suite of a trainer aircraft.
The indigenous tester can be further improved to test avionics suite of more complex aircraft.
Technical Details of Final DeliverableThis project will aim to develop a software/hardware based tester for avionics suite including MFDs of basic trainer aircraft.
