Project Summary

AI Student Advisor is a web portal that assists students in their multiple regular tasks, which are manual
and quite time taking; such as assist students in selecting CS elective course and managing workload during
warning or probation period. For elective course advising student will have to mention their area of interest
in CS domain then the portal will suggest student a course according to the current market trends of the
mentioned area and the tentative study plan, which helps students choose a course that is worth studying
according to the market trends. For managing student’s workload during probation period, student will
provide the transcript, the portal then will suggest a credit hour limit along with the list of courses according
to the CGPA and warning count, these are extracted from student’s transcript. Similarly, there are multiple
manual tasks that teachers perform during the semester and they need assistance to save the time and other
resources. These tasks include, selecting a suitable student for teacher assistantship and review content of
courses of same domain/area. For selecting a teacher assistant, the portal provides them with the list of
students, who are capable for Teacher Assistantship, these students are listed according to their grade of
that particular course and the CGPA limit set by the teacher. Also, the portal reviews the content of courses
i.e. compares the objective and learning outcomes of courses and returns a percentage of overlapping
between the courses, which is quite helpful for teachers in creating course outline. The last and one of the
great features of this portal is to help teachers and students by notifying them regarding the newly available
market opportunities of their interests which they dropped earlier, this feature is of great help as it does not
let the user miss out on any important opportunity

Project Implementation Method

AI Student Advisor is implemented using the react.js for frontened and django for backend.

Workload advisor and course advisor are implemented by the algorithms of machine learning using the library of tensor flow.

Opportunity portal is implemented by crawling the data from job portals like jobee.pk, rozee.pk etc

Benefits of the Project

AI Student Advisor is a web portal that assists students’ multiple problems in academia. This portal reduces all the
manual efforts and saves time by automating the solution processes, i.e. AI Student Advisor helps student choose the
desired CS elective as a result of their interest and current market trends. This portal also helps students manage the
workload by checking the warning count and CGPA and suggesting the list credit hour limit and list of course. AI
Student Advisor doesn’t let students to miss out on any opportunity and regret later, as it notifies them for all the
newly available market internship and job opportunities, the portal is updated in every 24-hour span. The teachers
can also use this portal and avail multiple great opportunities. As mentioned above that, the AI Student Advisor has
automated many functions for students, similarly, it has automated some functions for teachers too. This portal
provides teacher a list of best students, who are capable enough to be a teacher assistant, these students are listed
according to their grade in that particular course and the CGPA limit set by the teacher. It also reviews the content
of courses i.e. the objective and learning outcomes and gives a percentage of overlapping between the courses, which
is quite helpful for teachers in creating course outline.
 

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

Final deliverable will be having all the five modules using react and django.

Workload advisor and course advisor are implemented by the algorithms of machine learning using the library of tensor flow.

Opportunity portal is implemented by crawling the data from job portals.

Interface will be improved.
