ADMINISTRATION CONTROL AND DATA ACQUISITION OF DISTRIBUTION TRANSFORMER NETWORK VIA IOT
Modern communication has become a need to aware that what is happening around the world. Technology is changing and connecting the things which is unconnected yet. In electrical, failure of distribution network causes significant disaster due to its concentrated load and complexity. Administration control and data acquisition of distribution transformer network which can be use in industries like oil and gas companies, electric power distribution companies to ensure the real time monitoring of the parameters of distribution network and fault localization.
In present time if a fault occurs in distribution network, so it is time consuming & costly process to restore the fault because of searching of fault and wastage of fuel. This product let us know the exact loading of feeder on real time, fault localization and controlling of the electrical substation each node(PMT) of the network.
In present time, SCADA system has implemented in utility sectors to monitor and control EHT network. But there is nothing for the electrical distribution network to monitor and control on real time bases.
The working of this project(prototype) start from the connected load with the transformer. The CT’s and PT’s connected with the transformers, take measurements and give to Microcontroller (ESP 32).
Microcontroller connected with an internet device to provide connectivity. ESP 32 microcontroller send electrical parameters such as current, voltage and power through the internet to web.
The ESP 32 microcontroller act as Remote Terminal Unit, could monitor distribution network activities from the control room. This system not just for the monitoring but it would be great for the controlling and arranging maintenance shutdowns.
-- Dependency on site supervisor will be reduced as real time monitoring parameters will be available on web.
-- Time will be reduced as the devices will identify the faulty portion itself.
-- Lineman will take control over the failed line and repair within minimum possible time.
-- Vehicle movement will be reduced as patrolling on whole feeder will not be required in case of fault.
-- Exact loading of feeder can be obtained/monitored any time.
-- Data analysis and logging will be easy because of graphs and excel logging sheet.
-- Exact loading of PMT’s and sub stations will help to know the over loaded portions and other loopholes of the system.
This Project can improve reliability, security and efficiency of current distribution system. The primary objective of this project is to monitor the power distribution transformer, and failure in particular area. For this purpose need an advance monitoring system. The aim of this project is to monitor the load position. So the proposed system is designed to have emergency alert for remote node. Implementing this will reduce more time and also officials can give better supports to their customers.
