Project Summary

The idea on which we are working for our Final Year Project is carpooling which is also known as ride sharing or lift sharing of an organization. For this purpose, we would be developing an application in which those who come in their own personal conveyance can register their cars or bikes. Carpooling is involved with a group of people who have similar time slots and are going to the same organization. It is one of the newest technology which has made travelling comfortable and profitable. When more people travel in a vehicle then the price of the fuel will be shared and stress of the driver would be reduced. Moreover, nowadays carpooling is one of the best decisions due to high fuel prices and high pollution period.

Project Objectives

This is a software requirement specification document providing details of our rideshare application. This document will elaborate the functionality of the application. The purpose of our application is that it will reduce traffic congestion and the parking space in the organization. It is one of the newest technology, which has made travelling comfortable and profitable. When more people travel in a vehicle the price of the fuel will be shared and stress of the driver would be reduced. Moreover, nowadays carpooling is one of the best decision due to high fuel prices and high pollution period.

Project Implementation Method

To Implement this idea we would be making two apllications and one admin portal.

Admin:

The admin would manage both the driver and the user application.Admin would be able to view all the activities performed by both the user and the driver. Moreover, admin can remove any driver or user who does not provide legal information or creates any kind of disturbance in the application.

Driver:

In Driver Application the person who is interested to register their vehicle can register themselves in our application. While registering they have to give some details like their name, cnic, profile, model, number and color of the car. After the registration is done, they would provide some information like No.of seats available, location, timing and last but not the least fare. Moreover, the driver will have the right to Accept or Reject the ride.

User:

In Client application, the client will have to first register himself or herself and provide some information like phone number, name and cnic. After the registration is done the user can find the ride that is best suitable for them and connect with the driver. Moreover, the rider would have the facility to chat with the driver once the ride is confirmed.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

Our Final Deliverable would be that the applicattion would be fully working in which those who are willing to provide the services can register themselves in the driver app and who are willing to use this services can register themselves in the user application.This application would be only for our organization which is lahore Garrison University.
