A workflow system to automate the data collection process (of Agriculture, Industrial Statistics and Education) for Punjab Bureau of Statistics, in which users can edit, fill, sign and submit the forms and pass on to others.

Project Objectives

The goal of our project is to make a workflow system that can automate the task of data collection for Punjab Bureau of Statistics and to create an interface that will provide the users/personnel with tools to edit, fill, sign and submit forms according to their access rights.

To achieve this goal, the first objective will be to design web-based interfaces for all the forms and to design a database schema that will store all of their data. Next objective will be to design user interfaces according to the access rights of involved personnel. Once this is done, the next objective is to provide options to edit, save, submit and sign the forms, to the users.

Digitizing data collection forms that respective personnel can fill, edit and submit.

Design database schema to store data of and for the forms

Portal for all involved personnel to access data according to their rights

Providing a workflow through which the target system will be automated

Portal to provide information about pending forms/tasks

Facility to sign and pass on the forms to designated personnel

Project Implementation Method

A 3-tier architecture would be used for this project. The architecture would be prepared using Django rest-framework along with some built-in Python modules for security purposes. For the web interface, Html, CSS and Javascript would be incorporated using Angular for providing a secure communication of data amd to have modular design.

For collaboration Git and GitHub is used.

Benefits of the Project

Less paperwork (as all the forms that are printed, filled and submitted by hand will be digitized).

Accuracy (As the forms are digitized, user will have option to edit it so chances of errors are less)

Time Saving (traditional method of forms in hard form will be changed to digital method that with one-click will be submitted without the delays of posting and submiting)

Secure and Authentic  (This system will be much more secure as it will incorporate standardized security protocols)
