Project Summary

The project is aimed at facilatating people commute using organization owned carpooling service. The Woowend application is a meeting point for carpoolers, both drivers and passengers. Users can share and find rides. The application will be divided into two main parts. The first one is for intra-city trips using friends and family module where users can post their trips and register for trips created by users from their family or friends circle. In addition to that, a check-in system is available to notify the users when the driver or the passenger reaches the meeting point. The other part is for frequent trips i.e. the trips that occurs on a daily or weekly basis particularly in an organization. A person who commutes to work, for example, may be interested in creating a frequent trip to find other passengers to ride with. The access of the application is only granted to authorize users.

The users of the application are travelers and commuters who want to go from one place to another or users that are driving a trip and want to find passengers. Users can act as both passengers and drivers while using the application. The users can use their credentials for the account in order to log in the application. Any user of the application can act as:

  • A driver is any person that owns a car and wants to go from one place to another and publishes his/her trip on the application in order to find passengers to share the ride with.
  • A passenger is any person that doesn’t own a car and wants to join a driver in a trip she/he posted and agrees to all the conditions specified (price and general behavior).

  • Organizations such as educational institute can launch their own rideshare app for their students and teachers using our carpooling app development solution.
  • Enable peer-to-peer car sharing among friends, family and organizations on common routes with a branded P2P carpooling app. Organizations can quickly launch a custom P2P carpooling app to efficiently fulfill employee and business travelers’ needs.
  • Reducing overall traffic congestion on the roads.
  • Reduce peak hour congestion.
  • Reducing single occupancy car trips by implementing carpooling system.
  • Promoting alternative modes of transport.
  • Improve parking in areas that are experiencing parking congestion.
  • Save fuel and money by sharing the cost of driving one car.
  • Reduce number of cars in the road.
  • Reduce pollution and carbon dioxide emissions.
  • Reduces driving-related stress for participants.
  • Provide social connections in the society.
  • Registration based guaranteed pick and drop from home in a shared vehicle.

Project Implementation Method

The implementation method followed will have the following phases.

Planning: Identifying the complete requirements of the project i.e. the Software Requirement Specification and Work Break Down Structure (WBS).

Analysis: Analyzing the Requirements along with the Functional specifications & Data Flow Diagram.

Design: Designing the Database, Mobile and Web application such as the Detail Design Specification and Detail Data Model.

Coding:  Translate the design of the system into code.

Testing: According to the project specifications, the module and unit tests of the end-product i.e. our application will be done.

Deployment: Integrate the modules, test application & deploy the application. Check post the performance of app.

We will use an agile methodology in the overall project management. Agile plan will promote continuous iteration and incremental approach to software design and testing throughout the SDLC of the project. Both development and testing activities will be concurrent.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

Technical details of final deliverable for the project are as follows:

  • MOBILE APPLICATION 

                         We will use React Native for the mobile application development. React Native create truly native apps and doesn't compromise on your users' experience. It provides a core set of platform agnostic native components like View, Text, and Image that map directly to the platform’s native UI building blocks with React Native. It is used to develop applications for Android, iOS, Web and UWP by enabling developers to use React along with native platform capabilities.

  • WEBSITE:

             We will use WordPress for web development. WordPress is a content management system written in PHP paired with a MySQL, Maria DB, or SQLite database. Features include a plugin architecture and a template system, referred to within WordPress as Themes.

  • BLOCKCHAIN based walled

          We will create a wallet using blockchain, called woo-wallet. Blockchain wallet is a computer program that allows to monitor and conduct crypto currency.
