There are many online e-commerce websites in Pakistan but few of them are based on online auction and bidding system. Like OLX is a well-known website where sellers can advertise their product which they want to sell but there is no auction and bidding system. User those are interested in any product can negotiate the seller on the price in OLX.

The interesting phenomenon of online sales had been widespread usage of C2C (customer-to-customer) online auction websites that attract millions of users around the globe to sell, bid, and buy everything. Online Auction and Bidding System is the website application where participants can bid for the products and users, or sellers can upload their products or services for auction. Bidders can be maintained in a single database according to the preference, and they can be monitored. User’s data can be maintained in a confidential way for validity and integrity of contractual documentation

Key scope of our project is that we are presenting an online website for a local brand to sell products online on fixed price. Besides that, we will facilitate our customers and sellers by buying and selling system along with an auction and bidding system where users/sellers can auction their products and services for sell and then user/customer can bid the product. We use bidding system to avoid self-negotiation. This system has been designed to the highly scalable and capable of supporting large numbers of bidders in an active auction.

For this purpose, we have collaborated with “Textile Corner.” Textile corner is basically a local clothing brand for men and women.

Project Objectives

The goal of WeBuy is to enable buyers and sellers to find each other easily. Our objective is to create an online e-commerce website in which we direct our strategies toward attracting new users and increase the number of customers, so called acquisition. Then our purpose is too active more users to bid by imposing alluring regulations, such as lowering fees for listings items and offering proper incentives and discounts for our customers. Eventually we wish to mount up the gross merchandise volume and value of transactions which will conducted by every single active user.

The WeBuy project will meet the following objectives:

It is a business model that enables customers or sellers to trade with each other, frequently in an online environment. 

WeBuy is a type of business model that emerged with e-commerce technology and the sharing economy.

Its core service which enables sellers to list items for sale on an auction or fixed-price basis giving buyers the opportunity to bid for and purchase items of interest. Through which customer or seller can get rid of negotiation.

It uses artificial intelligence (i.e., machine learning) to help people in finding the best deals from the lists

Our website is developed to enable sellers with a wider range of products to showcase their products in a more traditional retail format including the traditional “add to cart” fixed-price format.

Project Implementation Method

The data of our project is stored in database which is built in MySQL and is implemented in web application and mobile application through MySQL query. We will be using digital camera for better quality picture of the product that used for auction and bidding purpose. When the user searches the product whether it be fixed or bidding product, MySQL query fetch the data of respective product from the database and display on the user interface. Lastly, to cross check the prices of products we are using Barcode Scanner.

The project will be functioning through the website, web application and mobile application. The web application is implemented in html, CSS, PHP whereas, the mobile application is implemented java on android studio.

Online auctions reach buyers from around the world. If you’re worried about your stuff being given away, online auctions provide the reach to find the right buyer for each and every item.

Bidder can bid product more than once for the same product (i.e. if bidder has bid for any product and if second bidder also bid that product with highest price from the first bidder than that bidder can bid that particular product more than the last bid). 

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

WeBuy will provide a mobile application and web application which include:

List of all categories of product.

Enable creation of accounts and logging in to the accounts.

System will allow user to search and select fix price’s products.

System will allow user to search and select products that are available for auction.

We also use digital camera for better quality picture of the product that used for auction and bidding purpose.

To cross check the prices of products we are using Wireless Barcode Scanner.

Provide interface for the administrator to add and modify product categories 

The admin should also have accounts where they will receive the customer orders and respond to them.

System will allow admin to add or remove auction

System will allow the bidder to bid on desired product.

System will allow sellers to post the ad for product they want to sell.

System will allow users view their active bids (that are in progress).

 System will allow user to view their expired bids.

Enable users to logout of their accounts

System will allow the user to view their purchase history
