Which give birth to many fatal diseases which eventually leads to millions of deaths in globe and it also affects the factors which are either directly or indirectly related to human life. According to survey conducted by WHO approx. 3.4 million people die due bad water quality. World is only focusing on water resources management but they are lacking in water monitoring which leads to increase in water pollution either by human activities, by factor relating to human life and due to natural activities. If we take best example of this by considering water in a area is polluted and it evaporated to atmosphere and rain in form of acid rain. Imagine how many areas and things will be affected by this. Surprisingly building which are built with concrete got affected by acid rain badly. Also, it has effect on agriculture which means our crops are washed twice with acid i.e., one time with insecticides and second time with acid rain. How we are live till now?
What if we have a proper monitoring system? Definitely, it will be changed scenario for entire globe. Question is what we have till now? Till now we have only slow, GPRS based monitoring systems, which are quite expensive in terms of cost but not that much efficient. Although lab tests are efficient but they are time consuming and quite expensive too. So, what's the solution?
Solution is quite simple. As we are living in 21st century and this is era of IoT. So, we are shifting water monitoring to this. Although few such sensor-based water monitoring products are available but they are offering less in more amount means they are quite expensive. They are in market either with pH, Temperature or conductivity sensor or two of them. Water watchdog is complete product in terms of hardware with multiple sensors and also have cloud service on which end user can see the sensor outputs in real time, time series charts will also be available for visualization, for what is trend of data of particular sensor? All of this will be done using Raspberry Pi, water sensor and sensor output to cloud server and here data can be analyzed and visualized by end user.
Project ObjectivesOur aims for this project are as follows:
? Shift the Water Monitoring System to IOT based system.
? Use Sim Cards (4G LTE) or any network connectivity.
? Make it dynamic so that plug and play of sensors make it air monitoring or soil monitoring system.
In this big picture, we will interface the sensors with our raspberry pi Board and using any available network send it to our cloud server. Then using data, we can do analysis on that data and also can predict curves and draw graphs of that data. We can check water quality from any part of world using that cloud server login. Coded algorithm will decide whether water quality is OK or not?
