Studies show that almost 3.44% of the entire world population is visually impaired. They face a lot of problems while performing their daily activities. For example, if they want to go somewhere it would be very difficult. It is because they are not able to see the way due to which they don’t know where they are going and the way on which they are moving is correct or not. Secondly, while moving they can’t see the obstacles that come in the way due to which they can get harmed. Moreover, they are not able to see the time due to which they can miss their important tasks which need to be completed on specific time. The purpose of this project is to solve all these problems of visually impaired people by providing them with a mobility solution. It not only just tells them the time but also helps them to travel from one location to another by providing them directions. If a person goes on the wrong path then it will let him know about the wrong track and will guide him to the right track. Secondly, it notifies them about the obstacles which come in their way and helps them to avoid colliding with them. Moreover, it supports a reminder system through which they can remember their important tasks.
The objectives of this product are as follows;
WatchSpark is an embedded device. The software resides inside raspberry pi which resides inside the watch. There is a camera, a mic, and a speaker which resides inside the glasses. The user provides input through the speaker which is transferred to the raspberry pi. At raspberry pi processing will be done according to the provided input and results will be generated. Those results will be then transferred back to the user through Bluetooth and the user will get those outputs through the speaker.

As the product is for visually impaired persons, they will interact through buttons and voice with the system. The product consist of a watch and glasses. There will be a button installed on the watch and the user will need to press it. As soon as the user will press the button, the system will ask the user what to do through the mic/speaker in glasses. Then the user will provide instructions (voice commands) and then the output will be given based on provided input.
There will be two buttons with which users will interact, one for switching the watch on and off, and the second for providing voice commands. The buttons will be special-purpose buttons with patterns engraved on them so that visually impaired persons can easily distinguish them.
