Project Summary

Technology is evolving with the passage of time and so the game industry. People play games for fun or to take a break from their hectic routine of life. People are getting bored by playing simple 2D and 3D games. Now people want some realistic graphics. And that’s where VR plays its part. VR simply means that it is a simulated experience that can be similar to or completely different from the real world. Applications of virtual reality include entertainment, education and business etc. There is so much room available in VR to grow. And we want to seize the opportunity by developing a game in VR. We are going to develop an endless runner game which will use VR technology to give users a near to realistic experience with an AI agent used in it. VR basically has three types; fully immersive, semi immersive and non-immersive. We will develop a non-immersive VR game. The game will include a hunter and a bear. Bear will run from the hunter to save his life. When the hunter catches the bear, the game will end and need to restart playing. There will be some hurdles that the bear will face and boosters which he will collect to stay alive. When the player collects the coin then he/she gets the score points and the player also collects the milk bar which helps the player to stay alive because when the player runs in the forest then his/her health decreases.

Project Objectives

We intended to make a fully functional game in which the player will be able to experience a 3D environment and will have complete control over the game. The inspiration is to build up a Game that not just satisfies the prerequisites of the Final Year Project however to additionally that could be propelled as a Product in the Google Play Store. The game uses beautiful 3D assets with carefully done texturing on top. The game should be able to run on devices running android 8.0 or more. The game has an easily navigable menu. The game has smoothing and relaxing music. No offensive terminology or theme is displayed in the game. Once deployed, the game will be continuously in the maintenance phase and we’ll be on the lookout for any bugs. The game will be deployed to the Google Play Store where the game will be accessible to the whole world. Making a unique form of android game with the combination of VR will help us drive the innovation forward.

Project Implementation Method

We will be using rapid prototyping for this project. Our implementation method is very simple. We will use unity game engine to make it run on android devices. Also we will use blender to create high poly graphics characters and other models.
