• The visually challenged people find it very difficult to access the technology because using them requires visual perception. Therefore, we have come up with this project, in which we will be developing a voice-based email application.
• The project is an android-based application for visually impaired persons using speech-to-text voice response, thus enabling everyone to control their mail accounts using their voice only and to be able to read, send, and perform all the other useful tasks. The users of this app need not have any basic information, regarding keyboard shortcuts or where the keys are located on the phone.

Project Objectives

• To use interactive voice responses to control the flow of the software.
• To use voice recognition to authenticate the user.
• To use the voice to compose email messages.
• To convert received email message to audio output.
• The application does not require the use of the keyboard.

Project Implementation Method

First, the Guardian will register the blind user. Then the user will login through Biometric . After successfuly login, the user can perform the following actions through API's:

1. Compose
2. Send
3. Receive

Benefits of the Project

The voice-based systems that have been developed till now are desktop applications. As visually challenged people do not prefer to have laptops and desktops, the use of such developed systems is very limited. So, for the betterment of society we build an app for specially-abled people we have come up with this project idea.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

Android Studio (4.2.2): Android Studio is the official Integrated Development Environment (IDE) for Android app development. Android Studio offers even more features that enhance your productivity when building Android apps, such as:

A flexible Gradle-based build system.

A fast and feature-rich emulator.

Java:Java gives the best option for development of mobile applications that are based on Android, as Android consist of its own APIs and Java libraries.

XML: A unified environment where you can develop all Android devices. Instant Run to push changes to your running app without building a new APK. Extensive testing tools and frameworks.

API’s:  An API is a software intermediary that allows two applications to talk to each other. In other words, an API is the messenger that delivers your request to the provider that you're requesting it from and then delivers the response back to you.

Firebase Database:  Firebase has all the characteristics of being a leading NoSQL database as it is best suited for handling real-time apps. Moreover, the database works consistently and perfectly fine across multiple devices.
