In this era of modern technology, technology had made a great impact in the world of Farming. Farming is usually done in an open air climate with huge lands and a requirement of a hard working labour. Our project will make farming simple and easy with almost no labour, no climate effecting our plants and most importantly with effecient results. All of this being made possible on every sacle that is home, industry, warehouses etc.
Vertical farming is the term used for the title of this project. It is a method of Plantation done in a vertically stacked layers for producing foods and medicine. The aim was to provide plant its desired growing environment via controlling certain factors such as temperature,humidity,moisture and watering through controller and a required amount of artifical lightning. In this way we will be able to get maximum amount of yield in minimum area with a fine quality of product all year.
We have developed an environment controlled system to do plantation through technology in a vertically stacked layers. This system makes farming simple and season free. As system is completely enclosed, there is no need of pesticides and insecticides. Plants can easily be grown under hydroponics system all year at good rate producing effecient results. Everything grown in the system is healthy and natural. System is designed in way that one can make changes to it even sitting miles away by the help of IOT.
OBJECTIVES
IMPLEMENTATION:
The first step for implementation was requirements of plant.
1)Lightining Requirement
Implementation of 6500 kelvin lights for proper growth of plants.
2)Temperature Requirement
AC and heater are being implemented for maintaining required temperature for desired plant. Fans are also used to control the factor of humidity.
3)Hydrponic Requirement
Implementation of hydroponic system through “Deep water culture” is being done in which water nutrients rotate through the trays.
By testing all these parameters separately the next step was to put all these parameters in synchronization with technology.
STRUCTURE AND CIRCUITRY
To develop a working system a metal structure with an area of 8 feet square and a height of almost 8.4 feet is made. This structure consist of following components

TECHNICAL DETAILS OF COMPLETE SYSTEM
Our system consist of a micro controller with which temperature and humidity sensor and ultrasonic sensors are attached. The temperature sensor senses the inside temperature of system and then sends the signal to micro controller, upon receiving the signal from temperature and humidity sensor, controller decides whether it is the ideal temperature for plant or not and if not then Controller turns on the AC ( if temperature is high )or it turns on the heater if( temperature is low), all this happens according to the requirement of plant. On the other hand controller also turns on fans to reduce humidity in the same way. In this way two factors temperature and humidity are maintained automatically. Ultrasonic sensor is used to vary the distance of lightning panel from the plant. As plant starts growing the sensor senses the distance and when the distance is minimum it then sends signal to controller which then turns on the gear motor to lift the panel, until the distance is maintained again. To make it easy for human interface a GUI is created where we can input the temperature, light timing , water rotation timing etc so that system works accordingly. In this way a complete automated system is developed where plants can be grown all year easily. One only has to do seeding and harvesting over the period of time.
