Vehicle Management System for an Organization (IST)
Most organizations such as universities, hospitals and corporations, etc. need to maintain a large fleet of vehicles. Every vehicle is manually logged while exiting or entering the organization’s premises; as also done in IST. In this project, a video camera will be used to capture images of the fleet vehicles (that are already available in the database) while exiting and entering. Machine Learning will be used for object detection (driver’s face) and number plate detection. This information will be automatically logged into the database.
To extract the image of interest from the camera (Image Acquisition).To detect the number plate of vehicles from the extracted image of interest. (Segmentation) . To do OCR (Optical Character Recognition) from the number plate. To do face detection of a vehicle’s driver. To save all the results in the database. Designing a Graphical User Interface (GUI).
By using Python (YOLOv4) and deep learning techniques (CNN), we will extract the image from a real-time video captured by a surveillance camera, and then using that image we will do (VRN) Vehicle Registration Number detection of the vehicle. Then by using OCR (Optical Character Recognition) technique, we will extract the characters in the number plate and will save both images of the number plate and characters detected by OCR to the already logged in database. We will also do face detection of the driver’s face and will also save it in the database for further use.
The benefits of this project include a security system for the vehicles, a data record of the organization's fleet, the entrance and exit detail of each vehicle entering and leaving the organization premises, the driver's details, and an online database for saving the data and for future access.
The beneficiaries can be any organization, corporate, industry, hospital, university etc. which have a large number of vehicles in their fleet which is used on daily basis.
The final deliverables will be:
1) Software implementation for (VRN) vehicle registration number and face detection using Deep Learning techniques, python(YOLOv4)
2) Software Implementation of Optical Character Recognition(OCR) technique.
3) To create a real-time database for the vehicle’s extracted information.
4) A Graphical User Interface (GUI) for the user for easy access.
