UNIVERSAL SOLAR PANEL TESTING SIMULATOR KIT WITH COST EFFECTIVE INDIGENOUS SOLUTION FOR INDUSTRY
Project Area of Specialization Electrical/Electronic EngineeringProject SummaryIntroduction The concept of solar simulation,' which is a technology that replicates the sun that can be used in research laboratories, industry, and commercial applications, is discussed.
A solar simulator is a device that duplicates the impacts of natural sunlight. The purpose of the solar simulator is to provide a controllable indoor testing environment in a lab.
A solar simulator (sometimes known as a sun simulator) is a testing tool that is used to simulate sunlight in an experiment. A solar simulator uses a light source that is meant to resemble real sunlight in terms of intensity and spectrum distribution.
Functionality
- The sensor of (Temperature, Voltage, Current, Humidity & Radiance Meter, etc.) Pre-calibrate through sources.
- Input-Sources (Temperature, Voltage, Current, Power, Radiance) rechecked by sensors.
- Troubleshooting.
- Connect the solar panel terminals to the simulator.
- All the environment/conditions given to the solar panel.
- During the measurement, the temperature of the cell junction is kept at a constant temperature (25 °C)
- Uniformity: Uniformity of the irradiance on the test area is a critical parameter for accurate measuring of panels etc.
- The condition is desirable for the panel.
- Solar simulators need to meet certain requirements on their light beam spectrum, temperature, uniformity, and stability.
- Which parameter (V, I, P, T, W/m2,)
- Take the reading from the solar panel.
- Reading
- Then processer manipulates all the reading and generates the standard result. (Which can be easily understood by Human-Bing)
- The final report would be generated by the simulator itself and Displayed on a laptop or LCD.
- Also, the result report would be displayed on IOT based monitoring system.
Conclusions
- The Solar Simulator takes Feedback through sensors.
- In Pakistan, we offer a low-cost testing solution
- Verify our solar panel testing
- A solar panel testing simulator that provides multiple parameters testing and method testing.
- Most the solar cell testing simulators do not have crack testing, we enhance this simulator as a crack tester
- As an advancement, we provide the facility to our valuable vendors to provide web IoT-based instant services.
- Give our technical support to the solar industry for their problem solution
- Future Benefits of Universal Solar Panel Testing Simulator Kit.
- To make IoT Based Monitoring.
- To Provide a controllable indoor test facility under laboratory conditions.
- To perform/analyze many tests with this testing kit (All in One).
- To perform Solar Panel current and voltage tests during faulty conditions.
- To perform a Solar panel Maximum Power Point test.
- To make a design in order to offer similar intensity and spectral composition to that of natural sunlight.
- To perform Solar cell crack testing.
- To provide both the versatility and reliability that we need.
At the initial stage, solar is getting charged with help of a beam of photons, and the source of these beams of photons is the surface-mounted light-emitting diode. We collect all the data which is in a raw form such as potential difference (V), the flow of current (I), ambient temperature, and light irradiance. Then we use the methodology of MPPT through which we can detect a perfect IV curve.
By the combination of all the above parameters and other given coefficients, we extract open-circuit voltage (Voc), short circuit current (Isc), maximum power voltage (Vmpp), and maximum power current (Impp), maximum power watts (Wp), light irradiance (W/m2). We find out all the parameters to find the efficiency of the solar panel (PV module).
The project’s main motive is to find the efficiency of the solar panel.
Benefits of the Project- Used in research labs.
- Can be implemented in Industry applications.
- Commercial uses.
- Use in sunscreen efficiency test.
- Performance measurement of solar panel/ Sunscreen.
- Solar simulators are often used to test the effects of UV exposure.
- It is a need of Pakistan also because there are many companies of solar panel in Pakistan, but there is no certified authority/institute/service center which provide solar panel testing.
