Underground Cables Fault Detection in Electrical Power Distribution system based on IoT
The main function of electrical power generation,transmission and distribution is to transport electricity where it is being used and utilized and for achieving this purpose many distortion have come to be seen that may caused some sort of interruption that often found to be effected of wire through environment behavior, humidity change in temperature and all abnormal behavior that might get endangered to cables not only in overhead but underground also, and to find the exact location of fault itself is also a difficult task. So we can decrease human effort by introducing a system that easily alert and identify the fault distance from distributed base station. our this proposed system can make a great change in electrical distribution sites reduces diiferent problems faced by service man for allocating a fault because,The main problem what we observed that if any underground cable fault occurred it will take much effort and required more time. As the method used in current days that is if any underground cable fault occurred ,firstly it will be identifying the location where the exactly fault take place through manually this will take much effort because the fault detector have to be walk for meters away long from the main distributor to detect the exact position and after that digging method is used to identifying the types of fault whether its short or open and after all these massive work then it will informed to an engineer whom is responsible for repair it.
1) To determine the distance of underground cable fault from base station
2) To decreases the human effort when under ground cable fault occur
3) To make the system more reliable
1) This project will work on the basis of Ohm's law
2)The current would vary depending upon the location of fault in the cable, that is in case, there is short circuit in the form of line to ground, as in short circuit current will maximum and resistance approaches to zero And if there open circuit in this case resistance will approaches to infinity and current will zero
3) Then the any type of fault will occur on any webpage or in LCD display
1) Our project is helpful in identifying the types of fault and the exact location where it occurs
2) Nature of fault and the distance from base station will be display on any LED or any screen where internet can easily access
