We aim to design an application named as "STUDYBASE" which will help students and teachers to stay connected on a particular platform and interact with each other, solve problems, help in preparing for an exam or help in teaching something. The application will be based on an android app and a website. The core feature of the application will be letting the users communicate with each other’s and help them to achieve a certain goal. Study Plan maker, Virtual class rooms, community based internet forum and teacher in your area are some of our main Features. Other than that previous applications developed on this domain, have some limitations, for example difficult account management, difficult learner sharing, no automated updates in application “Google classroom”. [Pappas, Christopher. “Google Classroom Review: Pros and Cons of Using Google Classroom in ELearning.”] Other than that Both Schoology and Edmodo run app stores that help you to plug in external apps and programs for a certain fee. [Winstead, Scott. “Schoology vs Edmodo vs Google Classroom - Education LMS Roundup.”], our application have built in tools for both students and teachers. Other than that our application have a find a teacher in your area feature which is not found in the previously developed applications on this domain.
Project Objectives
• To research previous applications developed on this domain.
• To find defects and limitations in those applications.
• To design an application for students and teachers to interact, solve problems, teach a particular course, achieve good academics performance and neglect the above defects and limitations.
Project Implementation Method
To construct a system based on ASP.NET MVC and Android. However the current problem most students faces is preparing for a special task, means understanding something regarding their courses. Another problem a student faces is getting the help of a teacher in order to understand something. Other than that O/A Level students often miss their classes due to which they faces problem understanding the topic which was being covered. Another Problem is finding a teacher for home tutoring which can be a bit of a headache. So what we provide is an internet platform where students and teachers can easily interact, study, teach and help overcome their study regarding problem easily. One of the feature includes community based internet forum, which can be join by students/teachers both who wants to know or understand a particular problem and help solving them. This feature includes both private communities and public communities. Other than that a teacher can also create a course topic to teach students. An overall progress feature is also available which shows the progress of a student in a particular topic and suggests what to do if the progress is low or good. A Find a Tutor in your area provides a live location tracking of availability of a tutor in your area for home tutoring.
