Steam Ejector Refrigeration System Test Bench
Our project title is "The fabrication of steam ejector test bench" and in this time period of the project. We have to provide and fabricate all the working and non working parts for the steam ejector test bench. Now, first we see what is this steam ejector test bench? Basically, an ejector replaces a compressor in the standard vapor compression refigeration system. So all the effort in making this project is for energy saving. In the ejector refrigeration system, there are two cycles, one is power cycle and the other is refrigeration cycle. In the power cycle we use a steam generator to make steam at high pressure and then this steam is passed through an ejector whuch converts the pressure into velocity. The ejector has two inlets, primary and secondary. Secondary inlet is very near to primary inlet. so, when at the primay inlet, pressurized steam is converted into velocity at the exit of primary inlet, it creates a negative pressure and this negative pressure works as a suction process to draw fluid from the secondary inlet which is the fluid from the refrigeration cycle. The components we are needed to run this setup are steam generator, ejector, condenser, evaporator, pump. expansion valve and the remaining setup including temperature, pressure and flow sensors. Very much important task in this project is to fabricate ejector with proper dimensions as it is the key component of the setup. So, the components we are going to use in this project will be worthy as it is an industrial level project.
Our project has many important objectives which include;
Main working component of the project is Boiler, So our first priority will be to bring a boiler according to our requirements as we may need a pressure upto 5 or 6 bar. Next thing is to fabricate the ejector according to proper dimensions. The thing to take serious is that in ejector, there are very small dimension like the smallest diameter is 2.5 mm. So, in fabricating the ejector, pricion and accuracy will be very much under consideration. After these two key components, we will arreange condenser, evaporator, expansion valve, pump, sensors and the setup stand along with pipes and fittings. After setting all the components upto requirements, we will do the testing of project alongwith the ansys simulations to compare the experimental and software results.
