Twitter is fast growing microblog. Many people use it to report incidents happening around the world. We propose to develop a tool to analyze tweets posted on twitter. It will help users to get an overview what's happening around the world. User will be able to perform analysis based on space and time. Different analytics modules will be supported like statistical module to tell about most popular persons and tweets, most active time periods, active localities, and sentiment analysis. The tool will be modular to support extensions in future. The tool will display results in the form of reports, charts, and graphs.

Project Objectives

Following are the objectives of this system:

1. Main purpose of this project is to help government and non-government organizations for their policy making for some goods based on the analysis.
2. To help security organizations to check reaction of people on specific topic, time, and location to take necessary proactive measures.
3. User can save analysis.
4. User can visualize analysis.

Tools & API:

• Twitter Searcch & Filter API.
• Python.
• Django.
• Google Maps API.
• Graphs API's for Visualisation.

Implementation Process:

Three modules of this project mentioned in the project summary:

• Crawler for fetching tweets from twitter.
• Analyzer for analyzing tweets.
• Visualizer for visualizing tweets
• Results will be in human readable form, so everyone can understand easily.

3. User will be able to get complete information sitting anywhere just need internet connection and he will be able to see what is the reaction of people on current event such as on cricket match.
4. Correct use of twitter data will help alot of people and companies.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

Final deliverables of this project:

1. A crawler module which fetches tweets from Twitter and passes to Algorithm module.
2. Sentiment Analysis Algorithm module which will perform analysis on tweets and passes results to visualizer.
3. Data visualizer will display useable results of analysis.
