To overcome the destruction rate caused by this virus it is everyone’s responsibility to use the thought process into making something useful. This pandemic has been worsening the current conditions and our only chance at subsistence is to reduce the infection rate until an authorized vaccine is made globally accessible to the whole of humanity. The infection can be stopped or reduced in spreading by taking all types of precautions against it. Disinfection and sanitization of human bodies and other inanimate surfaces in the surroundings are the two-star features. The invention that we are proposing works on a similar phenomenon. It works on the basis of disinfecting and sanitizing individuals. In the trying times where the whole world is on the hands of survival for the deadly coronavirus pandemic, the scientific society and educational world have come together to fight the cause globally by innovating thoughts into inventions that could be used as precautionary measures to assist in preventing the rapid spread of this fatal disease. The invention that has been presented in this research is yet another automated assistance to the humans that could disinfect and sanitize human bodies and other corresponding belongings from the covid-19 virus microorganisms. This fully automated phenomenon specifies the area to be disinfected on a human body by specifying the height of an individual in accordance with the sanitizing fluid to be utilized. To ensure its effectiveness and efficiency each and every feature of the device has been standardized and quantified.

Project Objectives

The invention that we have proposed is an electro-medical sanitizing shower that aims to disinfect and sanitize people according to their physique and prevent them from further getting infected from the people or places which already are. The motive is to produce an assistive automatic system that will be able to allow individuals to pass through and come out disinfected with 99.99% of the covid-19 germs eliminated. The project is the demand of the present time not only at the local level but at the global level because no official vaccine has been prepared till yet hence it is better to break the chain of COVID-19 so that people will take as many precautionary measures as they can at public places and as the name of the invention suggest, the goal to provide germs free environment and allow people to stay away from the virus’s premises reducing the possibility of getting infected. This project is going to be a joint effort trying to achieve some particular objectives like;

  1. To develop a system reliable and consistent enough to achieve our aims.
  2. To implement our collective engineering knowledge and apprehension.
  3. To determine the major aspects of our surroundings to validate our system.
  4. To identify the needs and factors that affect the demand of our system.
Project Implementation Method

The design of this invention has been put together after considering all technical and analytical feasibilities and convenience of the user and manufacturer. The design of this device has been customized in a way that it can be installed and operated in public places and areas which are prone to get infected the most and disinfection is an inevitable option. The device is made fully automated with actuators and sensors. Each and every component has been accumulated with precision to ensure an effective application and fulfill the right purpose of the electromedical shower. The highlighted features of the device are the height detection of an individual for the specification of the showerhead position through ultrasonic sensors and the computation of the amount of sanitizer fluid to be sprayed by the shower mechanism through water level sensors in the water tank.
This whole design and its structure have been made after considering a lot of advantages and pros for the consumer. Its portability makes this invention feasible to get installed anywhere especially crowded places that are prone to transmit the disease at a high rate like airports, shopping malls, train and bus stations, offices, educational institutes, hospitals, medical centers, and laboratories where this installed invention will be able to disinfectant hundreds of individuals on daily basis in a very less amount of time.

The Electromedical sanitizing shower research is based on the current state of the art of the scientific enhancement and inventions on the ongoing global pandemic to aid humanity in the survival rate. The invention that has been proposed is a sanitizing and disinfection shower which is designed to disinfect individuals from the Covid-19 pathogens and microorganisms using atomized shower sprays. The idea behind this invention was put together after a lot of study on each and every feature of this research. The proposed invention has been designed to innovate our engineering knowledge and skills into a creation that can make a difference to the ongoing global ailment. The need of this research was to create a safe environment for crowded places with the latest technical modifications. The highlight of this work was the quantification and standardization of each and every feature of this sanitizing mechanism. Height detection, shower head adjustment, and sanitizing fluid quantity specification were the sole objectives that were aimed to be achieved which the final design did. The design, its electronic circuitry, and its initial prototype phase validated the effectiveness and efficiency of the device in its major motives which were to disinfect an individual according to their height and physique avoiding the waste of sanitizing fluid and saving extra time on an individual for improved results. This invention will be a depiction of the analytical knowledge and engineering skills using one’s full potential prognostic expertise to mold thoughts and ideas into an interpretation to assist humanity during times when the whole world is suffering and struggling to make its way out of this pandemic.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

Disinfection of microorganisms is a lengthy process that needs to be done efficiently in less time to be effective enough. The first phase of this process starts when an individual enters the shower tunnel. As soon as this happens the control unit activates. Since this device works on standard and quantized methods and values the process of disinfection is also based on specific values that the control unit will provide. Every individual has a unique height and physique which means that everyone will need to be disinfected in a different quantity of the disinfectant fluid with a different position of disinfection spray. These specifications are the highlight of this research project. Since there are other similar machines and devices working on a similar cause, this feature makes this invention unique from others.
When any individual steps inside the sanitizing tunnel the control unit starts working and the counter starts. The control unit has been allocated two different processes and hence it works on them simultaneously. The first goal is to detect and define the height of a person. Height detection in this mechanism is done by ultrasonic sensors which work on the basis of ultrasonic waves.
The ultrasonic sensors attached to the tunnel room with equal measurements will start acting as soon as a person comes in front of them. A total of six sensors would be placed on the entrance on an equal spacing that will examine the height of the person. Spacing between the placed sensors is done by taking the average height of a small kid, a youngster, and a fully grown adult man. The sensors would be taking height measurements of around 2 feet to above 6 feet. To whichever sensor the height of the person reaches, data from that sensor will be transmitted to the control unit which will be already programmed to adjust the height of the shower according to the information and distance value provided by the sensors. Showerheads are placed on a vertical pipe and they are subsequently movable on the y axis on the defined length fed by the controller. Linear motion will take place as soon as the controller detects a signal from the sensors and the programmer logic will work accordingly. The dc motors that have been already fit on the top of the structure will be the working actuators which will assure a consistent linear motion for the showerhead.
Simultaneously the amount of the sanitizer fluid to be sprayed is to be determined while the height detection and showerhead adjustment is being done. The sanitizer fluid is already filled in a container with water level and volume flow rate sensors to determine the amount of the sanitizer fluid to be pumped through. Sanitizing fluid will be specified according to the height, will be pumped to the smaller tanks which will do the mixing of the disinfectant liquid and pump it further to the showerheads using the motor pumps. After which the showerheads get activated and spray the liquid disinfectant in the form of fog.
