Problem Statement:
Water is an essential part of life. About 80% of the country's population are drinking unsafe water and in water the containments like lead, microbes, saline, and arsenic are present. This type of quality of drinking water is not good for human health and in Pakistan, about 50% of death and 40% of people are hospitalized every year. In Urban, Rural areas of Pakistan and Especially for those areas which do not have electricity and are not drinking safe water like some Areas of Balochistan and Sindh. For solving the problem of impure water we are making Solar based Smart energy-efficient water purifier.
Introduction and background:
In Pakistan, about 50% of death are due to the drinking of impure water. Groundwater is not good for drinking purposes due to containments like arsenic, lead, and many more. In our country, pure drinking water is a big problem in urban, especially in rural and remote areas. This type of drinking water is not good for the health of humans and has a bad effect on their health diseases like water-borne diseases. The technologies present nowadays for the purification of water are too much expensive and not affordable by the people of rural and remote areas secondly nowadays technologies majority dependent on electricity and due to lack of electricity in those areas, they are facing problems and drinking impure water. To save the lives of humans from deadly diseases like water-borne diseases we are making a Solar-based Smart Energy Efficient water purifier that works on solar energy which is a renewable source. It is cheap energy that provides pollution-free operation and purifies water on the principle of reverse osmosis. Reverse Osmosis is a process that is used to separate ions, unwanted molecules large particles from drinking water to make impure water to pure. We are using batteries to save energy and a charge controller to prevent it from overflow, filter, water tank, relay, and motor are also used. We are also adding smartness to this project. By adding smartness to our system we are managing our energy and making this project energy efficient and using extra energy to run a small dc load. It can be used especially in those areas which are affected by natural disasters like floods and in those areas where there is no excess electricity and have impure water.

Implementation:
For the implementation of a solar-based Smart Energy Efficient water purifier, we are using solar PV for energy requirements. It is our energy source. Solar Panels are connected to the battery for the storage of energy through a charge controller. The energy we collect from the sun is stored in the battery. The charge controller is used for the protection of the battery. It regulates current and voltage coming from solar panels and prevents the battery from overcharging. The RO purification system consists of a high-pressure motor, water tank, and reverse osmosis system. High pressure is necessary for the purification of water. The microcontroller is used to prevent water from overflowing. Through this process, we obtain purified water.We are also adding smartness to this project if our water purifies tank is filled with purified water then we give excess energy to the battery for charging if the battery is charged then we give the excess energy to dc load. This way we are adding smartness to our system and by adding smartness to our system we are managing our energy and making this system energy efficient by using extra energy to run a small dc load. It only has capital cost not running cost. This Solar Based Smart Energy Efficient Water Purifier is more efficient and effective in those areas where they have no access to electricity and in those areas which are affected by a natural disaster like a flood and in those areas where there is no excess electricity and have impure water.

Benefits of the Project:
As you know we get most of our energy needs from non-renewable energy sources. Nonrenewable energy comes from sources that will run out. Mostly Non-renewable energy sources are fossil fuels like coal, natural gas, and petroleum. Carbon and other toxic gases and pollutants are present in fossil fuels which is not good for the environment. When we burn fossil fuels for our energy needs these toxic gases and pollutants are increasing in the atmosphere which traps more heat and our earth becomes hotter. As a result temperature increases which is not good for our environment and the ecosystem. Secondly, non-renewable energy sources are more expensive than renewable sources that’s why the world is shifting toward renewable energy sources. Renewable energy sources are Limitless because they are obtained from natural resources that don’t run out and replenish naturally. Renewable energy sources are solar energy, wind energy, hydro energy, tidal energy, geothermal energy, and biomass energy. Solar energy is the energy that we get from the sun. We are working on solar energy in this project. Solar energy is the energy that we take from the sun. We take solar energy from the sun through solar panels. It provides us with cheap and clean energy. It is a Renewable energy source. It provides us with environment-friendly energy. It has no negative impact on the environment. It has a low maintenance cost.It can be used to distill water in those areas where they have no access to electricity.
Project Deliverables and Specifications:
We are making a Solar Based Smart Energy Efficient Water Purifier. Its works on Solar energy and purify water. We calculate the rating of Solar PV that how much Power rating of Solar PV and how many Solar PV are used for the generation of energy for this Solar Based Smart Energy Efficient Water Purifier. We calculate the rating of batteries and how many ratings of the battery are used for the storage of energy that they get from the solar panel. We are using the Reverse Osmosis technique for the purification of water. We use Relay, charge controller, microcontroller, and RO purification system for this Solar Based Smart Energy-efficient Water Purifier. we are using solar PV for energy requirements.
