Social Distance monitoring and Laser Marker system
Our project is social distance monitoring and marker system with Raspberry PI. In this increasing era of Covid-19 and other deadly spreading diseases we can only do two things get vaccinated and practice proper social distancing rules so the problem is that how can we enforce and monitor social distancing between people in public places such as banks , Halls and contained places? The answer is by making a smart Device that can detect violations and Mark where to stand and where not to. Our Device will monitor social distance between people and will also mark the area of where to stand with laser guidance system i.e. Marker System. We will use our PI to get live video feed of the area and with the help of Computer vision we will identify the position of next person to stand by calculating the distance also all violation with live feed can be accessed by a web app on every violation our system will announce a message like “Please Maintain social Distancing”. Our Marker system will use a laser to guide people where to stand. By using this device we can create a save and dis-contagious environment for the betterment of people.
We will be enabled to monitor and enforce Sop’s to Avoid Contagious Disease also this project can be further updated to monitor and can be implied on various places such as banks vaccination centers as well as in public places too such as restaurants schools stock markets etc. Our project will first get the live feed with pi camera after that it will specify the distance between people and the marker system will mark a place for the next person to stand this will be done by extracting the position of the person standing first and the laser will mark according to the defined distance that is 2 meters our system will also show the social distancing violations in the room and on every violation it will make a specified announcement such that “Please Maintain Distance” .it will have a web interface from where the admin can view everything our product will help and stop the spread of contagious disease for now and can be modified according to the use in near future.
We will be using OpenCV with python and integrating it with raspberry pi we will create a monitoring system which will take input of a live video feed provided by a pi camera we will be applying mobile net ssd algorithm to identify objects and by using eucladian distance we will further calculate the social distancing violation we are also calculating the total number of violations in a frame . we will also develop a web interface of monitoring system. In the marker system we will be using a laser to guide a user where to stand by calculating co-ordinates of the user received from the marker system and a custom announcement will be made for the userto mantain social distance.

We will be enabled to monitor and enforce Sop’s to Avoid Contagious Disease also this project can be further updated to monitor and can be implied on various places such as banks vaccination centers as well as in public places too such as restaurants schools stock markets etc. Our project can be further modified to be used as a general marker systems for overall security and health purposes we can modify it to become a monitoring system for schools and college examination invigilation and many other fields.
We are using openCV Python and MobileNet SSD Algorithm for image processing. For distance measurements we are using eucladian distance which is used in calculation of violation and further in the marker system to. Marker system is actually a complex entity of the project in whcih we will be using a servo motor and laser attached to the raspberry pi which will guide the violator (i.e. person posessing violation) the correct place to stand.
