“SmartHostel App” is an application that will be used by students living in a university hostel as well as the staff. Primarily this application will provide the user to conduct different chores within the hostel. It will manage tasks like payments of hostel bills, saving staff and student data. Getting the notification of mess menu, saving the time of student going out and coming back by using the QR code technology. There is also an additional feature that would generate the automatic fine slip if the student came late. All under the single app. This application will be favorable, and it will save considerable amount time and efforts of a user.

Project Objectives

• Our major focus is to provide the user hassle free hostel entrance and exit using QR-Code technology as it will save their data in database rather than using old methods of keeping the records on paper.
• Students will pay their hostel bills by using the same QR-Code technology.
• Room allocations. Student will find out if the rooms are available or not.
• Will be able to see the timings of bus.
• Automatic fine slip will be generated against the student’s name if student is coming late at night.
• Getting the update of mess menu.
• Parents will have access to the details of their child living in hostel. They will be able to see the daily record like when their child left the hostel and what time he/she came back. Parents can also view the monthly fee vouchers.

Project Implementation Method

System Interface:

• Operating System: Android and IOS
• Language: Dart and flutter
• Development Tools: Visual studio, flutter

Hardware Interface:

• Android and iOS smart phones.

Software interface:

Software interfaces include application for the smart phones, a browser to access the website with internet connectivity. Firebase database is also used to manage the database. Other software’s required for development and designing of the website include flutter, visual studio and Figma.

Communication interface:

• This system will simply use Wi-Fi and mobile data                                                                       User Characteristics:

• User can perform basic hostel tasks.
• User can login and logout of an application       .Constraints:
• This application will use Android and IOS operating system.
• Internet connection is necessary to run this application.
• Smartphone are good to run this app.

Benefits of the Project

The purpose of this application is to help students to perform different tasks under a single app. Students will be able to complete their hostel chores inan effortless way by saving a lot of time and effort. Like paying hostel dues, hostel attendance, coming in/going out, bus timings and routes. We will provide a simple but efficient way for students to do hostel tasks in a very smart way. The big benifit of this app is that it will save a lot of time and efforts of many students it will make their life much easier and smart during their stay in hostel.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

DELIVERABLE 1: We completed our research and planning for this project.And we make a documrnt comprimising of our project should work

DELIVERABLE 2: We started working on the design of our app. We created the prototype of our app.

DELIVERABLE 3: We started to work on the front end of our app. Once our front end was completed we move onto our next step.

DELIVERABLE 4: Our front end was completed and we started to code our backend and then we attached our backend with front end.
