Project Area of Specialization Internet of ThingsProject SummarySmart Waste Management System is a management system that let operator know if smart bins are filled or not.The problem arises when Trash bins overflow in highly populated areas.The objective of the project are to design a Management system based on Android and website Application,develop a system and test it.This system will allow operator to know which smart bins require immediate collection and which do not need collection,compressor used in Smart bins allow them to carry more waste than simple trash bins.The operators will also be able to get the shortest route of filled bins.
Project Objectives1) Reducing Human Efforts.
2) Reducing Time & Cost.
3) Providing Shortest path to vehicle
4) Increasing Capacity of bins by Compressing Waste.
5) Resulting in healthy and waste ridden environment.
Project Implementation Method1) we used ESP module that connects our hardware components(IR sensor) to WIFI network and it helps us to get the information of waste material in smart bin.
2) we connected our hardware components with Firebase database.
3) we connected our Android App with Firebase database to get data from database.
4) we designed a map module in our Android App that provides path to the vehicle(driver).
5) we will design a website for the admin to check the records of all smart bins as well as vehicles (In progress).
6) we will provide fully functional smart bins connected with solar panel.
Benefits of the Project1) It will reduce time and cost.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable1) A smart bin: our smart bin is comprised of hardware components (ESP,IR and GSM modules) connected to the Firebase database. Through these components, it provides inforamation of waste material to the Firebase.
2) Android App: Android App provides the shortest path to reach the filled smart bins to the vehicle(driver).
3) A website: A website designed for the admin will provide the information of all smart bins as well as vehicles(driver).
