The main Goal is to provide a platform where planning a tour is no more a tiresome job. The application will Recommend the user a complete tour plan that will include a tour destination with accommodation according to his/her interests and budget. The system will use a hybrid recommender system that will filter the places according to the end -user’s interest with collaborative filtering according to the weights. The system will provide a user guide that will let the user to explore more about the places in Pakistan.
Project ObjectivesSmart Tourism Recommender system is a type of application that will be used to recommend tourism places as its names suggests. Our goal is to portray the positive image of Pakistan through our application. It’s a complete web and app-based platform. The application will recommend the user a complete tour plan that will include a tour destination according to his/her interests. The system will use a hybrid recommender system that will filter the places according to the end-user’s interest with collaborative filtering according to the weights. The system will provide a user guide that will let the user to explore more about the places in Pakistan. Also the system will let the users know about the weather conditions a week before their departure for necessary luggage. The primary goal of our project is also to develop the dataset for all the tourism places around Pakistan. There is no such dataset to recommend places like we are going to do through our system. This dataset will consist of different parameters that will assist the user in order to categorize all the places.
Project Implementation MethodWeb Application: We will develop a web-based application of our recommender system. In our web application we will display information of interesting places that a user can visit along with the real time recommender. This web application will be used to generate tour plans.
Android Application: We will also develop an android application of our recommender system. In our android application we will notify our user about the weather conditions a week before their departure for necessary luggage. In case of surprise tour, the user will be notified about the complete tour and the whole plan will be automatically provided to user three days before departure so that they can make necessary arrangement for trip according to their taste.
Benefits of the ProjectThe benefits of this project will be as following:
- This project will promote the tourism industry of Pakistan.
- Through this project all the stakeholders of the tourism industry will be benefited in a way that they can promote themselves using our platform.
- The headache of planning a tour can be eased through this platform as our system will generate a feasible tour plan for them.
Android application will be based upon XML (Front End) and JAVA (Back End). This android application will generate notifications to the user about the upcoming trips and weather conditions.
Website will be developed in React (Front End) and Node.js (Back End). This will help the user to develop the tour plans and through our system whole tour budget will also be displayed.
