Smart Tool Trolley Using RFID and Keypad
The project that we are doing as our Final Year project is basically for the Aviation industry in their workshops, we are developing a SMART TOOL TROLLEY that uses RFID technology for its working as we know from facts and figures there are around about $4 billion loss faces by the aviation industry due to some technical issue and some manual issue in which mismanagement of tools is also considered as one of the big issue not only in the loss of tool but also as a factor in destruction of the aircraft in some cases when a technician forget a tool in a sensitive part of plane which then leads to the destruction of the plane just because there is still manual systems in workshop which is too slow and after any incident we refer to the system but using this smart management we are able to know at earliest time which of our tool is missing from trolley and by doing this we can have much lesser risk of destruction of planes as well as of human lives. So by keep this issue in mind we divide our project in mainly two parts firstly to managing of tools and secondly keep safe and secure by dual verification of person before taking out any tool from trolley this would surely saves the planes from any causal incident and save preciously lives of people.
As main part of our system is the Arduino Mega which get signal from keypad Reader from sensors and then pass on basically first of all a user came he switch on the trolley first appears a screen which show “ Scan Your Card” as defined as well as shown earlier so after scan card person have too enter a unique pin so these two verification is dine by arduino after the arduino check from data base whether the respective tool is in the trolley or not show it on the main LCD screen by tool menu and when a user select the tool no it pass signal to the relay to open up the respective drawer. And all these data is also sending to arduino uno which then store the information on SD Module Database. After performing all this cycle it again start from the main that to scan your card and proceed to the getting your desired Card. As defined that a specific card and unique pin will be allowed to do process of getting tool from trolley but we also have a admin option there for that we uses a tag to allow admin when ever he/ she want to check the tools availability in trolley it can be done without key identification and both drawers will be unlocked at the same time.
We have divided our project “ SMART TOOL TROLLEY USING RFID” into main two major parts and further divide them into smaller part which makes us goes smoothly throughout the completion of the project. Following are major parts :
Hardware Part
Software Par
Data analysis and keeping Record.
This project has a great worth in market as well as academic because on market scale it is providing them smart management system for tools which is the basics of any industry and in this modern and busy world every little thing works by giving signal through Artificial intelligence so keep this in mind this project have a great worth in industry as well as in the in academic scale and we are going to learn about the one of the basic technique used in project which is RFID. List of skills that we are learning from project:
Implementation Of RFID Technology
Understanding To operate RFID Reader and Tags
Design making in hardware for tool trolley and operate using electronics
Studied many IEEE and other international Research for this project, Learned different
Learned different techniques to use RFID technology.
Different software for circuit design
Hardware design using different electronics
.A lot more work on arduino
As for the industry it’s scope is huge in a way that we are providing a new innovative way the save the tool that is not present in the workshops in Pakistan so this surely will have great impact on the industry and specifically for whom we are developing that is for PAKISTAN AIR FORCE and as somehow we are aware of the management of them they there is still a manual system for the keep of the tool and keep write them in the registers so this will reduce the human effort and there would be less chance of any loss and any causality. Now coming up to Quantifiable Outcomes it includes that our trolley would be portable easy to handle moreover Save time for manually searching of the tools and one of the good outcome is it is in Effective cost range and benefits a lot and costs less. There is a display on the trolley like a screen for login, which would question about the person who want to get the tool from the trolley and keep it in our database system record and can be use later if any problems occur. As we will have a login for the worker and before taking the tool he should has to scan the tool so in case of Missing of any tool we have a record of the person who take the tool this will help to prevent the Loss of any tool.
