Project Area of Specialization Augmented and Virtual RealityProject SummaryConstruction industry uses paper-based maps and models to design the proposed projects in their planning and building phases. In this project, we aim to build the Smart Thekedar application, which uses augmented reality in the construction industry of Pakistan. It augments the maps and models with 3D models and audiovisual content in order to provide a realistic experience. The augmented maps and models are fully interactive insofar as the stakeholders can use natural interaction mechanism, like pointing and zooming using touchscreen, moving the Android device near or far away from the map.
Project ObjectivesThis project will facilitate their users to overcome the confusion of understanding the drawing of architect by poviding the 3D view of their buildings.Provide a realistic envirnoment in construction for users.
By this application user can able to see the sun light on their buildings that how much time sunlight remain on the building and in which direction it will move with passage od time.
Another major functionality that application provide to their users that they can able to realize the change inside the model on the spot if user want to remove the wall he/she can see the effect of change on the mean time.
Application provide the plumring and electric work deatail in 3D view .user can able to see the plumbring and electric connection embed inside the wall.
project objective is to facilitae their users about cost and estimated time frame to complete building.
Project Implementation MethodFirst of all symbols of 2D models are recognized and then replace them with 3D object place on it for agumented reality touch.
As all the symbols on 2D model of building are replaced with 3D objects then next step is to combine them all to create a 3D structure.
Once all the 3D structure is created next step is to embed the sunlight direction API for determine the sunlight effect.
then for cost estimation measure all the area cover by 3D structure and then each foot mulltiply with standard amount.
completition time is estimated because of weather change.
Benefits of the Project- It will remove the ambiguity of a person related to their construction.
- Provide 3D model of construction person can able to see their building by every aspect.
- User can able to observe the change in construction in real time environment.
- User can able to see that how their building will appear in future.
- Resources can be handled.
