Project Summary

Crime rate in Karachi is increasing day by day. In last few months Karachi’s crime rate has been hit record time high. Most of the crimes were done using a weapon i.e. handgun. So we are coming with a solution, with CCTV Surveillance System which will detect weapons using Machine Learning on the basis of human posture. With this project, response time of authorities can become very less and they can respond to the incident more quickly as compared to emergency calls that has been made to 15 or any other helpline.

By the end of this project, we would achieve the following points:

·To have safe public environment.
·A decrease in rate of crime.
·Actions could be taken on the spot.
·Snatchers/Robbers could be identified by the frame.
·To protect our environment from ruining to these snatchings.

Project Implementation Method

The proposed Methadology of system is:

We first input a video on a gallery set which will convert it into frame to get the images and then it will be more easier to detect the object after the object is been identified. We move forward to detect frame, Training data and classsification to detect gun and make recognition possible and accurate in the uncooperative setting of experimentation. Get location of the spot and send alert signs to database.

Criminals would be identified with the help of Snapshots taken by the camera.
Crime rate will fall as the advances in technology.
Researchers can analyze the data and mark hotspot for gun crimes.
Response would be reduced, as compared to 15 helpline.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

At the end we’ll achieve a smart surveillance system which will detect weapon on the basis of human posture, after detecting weapon it will send an alert to the responder, an automatic alert would be sent to the responder. Automatic alert would reduce the response time. By the end of this project we would achieve a safe environment in public atmosphere.
