Project Area of Specialization Internet of ThingsProject SummaryAgriculture is considered the basis of life for the human being because it is the main source of food grains. It plays vital role in the growth of country economy.In Pakistan, agricultural production is being affected by several factors which include lack of technology, pesticides and irrigation problems. The Scope of this project is to modernize the traditional agriculture methodologies.
The project aims at making agriculture smart, using automation and IoT technologies. The highlighting features of this project include smart GPS based robot to perform tasks like spraying, moisture sensing, bird and animal scaring, keeping vigilance, etc. Secondly it includes smart irrigation with smart control and intelligent decision making based on accurate real time field data. Thirdly, smart warehouse management which includes temperature maintenance, humidity maintenance, theft detection and PH Control for the testing of soil. Controlling of all these operations will be through computer connected to Internet and the operations will be performed by interfacing sensors, Wi-Fi or ZigBee modules, camera and actuators with micro-controller and raspberry pi.
Project ObjectivesThe objective of this Project are as fallow:
- To design and Build an autonomous Robot that will move through the fields for field parameters.
- Smart and automatic Irrigation system.
- Insecticides spray mechanism.
The project will be implemented by building a prototype model for Robot. The dimension of the robot areĀ 1X2 feet. The model will be equipped with the power source (battery) and microcontroller board along with the temperature, humidity sensors and motor drivers. Model will also be equipped with the spray tanks to spray the plants as per schedule. Control unit will also control the irrigation of the plants using IoT channel. PH sensors and soil moisture sensors will be plansted in the field model. All the data from sensors will be collected via Arduino board and sent to IoT channel using node MCU.
Benefits of the ProjectAgriculuture roborts automate slow,repitive and dull task for farmers allows them to focus more on improving overall production yield.
By Taking up task like herbicide and pesticide spraying robort do protect human employes from potential harm that may be caused by inhaling and handling farm chemicals by hand.
