Smart hybrid inverter
Project Area of Specialization Electrical/Electronic EngineeringProject SummaryThe smart hybrid inverter is a modified form of UPS (Uninterruptible power supply). It can be used both AC and DC supply to fill the battery which would be utilized to create power without either or both of energy sources.
Typically power from solar technique is only produced under the sun light with a top production around late morning. . This power is fluctuating and not matched with the electric utilization of the family unit. To beat this hole between what is delivered and what is required amid the night when there is no sun based power creation, it is important to store power for later utilize and manage power reduction in a suitable and clever way.
It provide un interrupt power supply 24hours.
Project ObjectivesThe main purpose of this framework is to transfer an alternative power solution for remote locations such as research areas and small villages. Also this framework is used as a temporary power solution for locations affected by natural disasters.
To achieve these objectives the product must be low cost and should be manufacture easily
Project Implementation MethodThere are three source, WAPDA, solar and wind.
WAPDA and wind are alternating current that is converted into direct current by full wave bridge. There are three power supplies, first for WAPDA, second for solar and third for wind. Make a voltage divider for all the sources and send these voltages to the Micro-Controller of ADC pins that’s convert analogue signal into digital signal.
Vout =Vinp (R2/ R1+R2) Vout=5v because Micro-controller works on 5v. That’s why we can’t give higher voltage. Vinp = 30v it is output of variable power supplies (source models). R2=20k? Now we calculated R1 from above formula R1=100k? Micro-Controller compares these voltages through program and make decision which one is ON or OFF to operate the relay. LCD is also connected with the Micro-Controller that displays the voltages of solar, wind and battery on it.
It also shows the status of battery, either its charging or full charged. The relay or LED of selected source is on by the Micro-Controller decision. Our load is AC so we convert the DC into AC through inverter.
Benefits of the Project- Ability to self-consume all of its available PV electricity
- Load shifting
- Stores solar energy so that it is available during peak period
- Saves solar energy due to self-use
- Management of energy demand
- Consumption of power is reduced
Analysis Procedure Our analysis is for renewable source that is available or not. Solar is available in sun and wind is in air. If wind and solar are available properly, they produce voltage. These voltages compares by Micro-Controller. If voltage is in proper quantity then load is shifted on it.
After all the information we gathered, an in-depth study on the working of hybrid (solar, wind) based hybrid inverter power system will be made under supervision of our supervisor in which as an output we’ve to managed to design power supplies like single phase 50Hz 220V.We will also designed a variable DC power supply ranging from 0-20Volts. The output we will generate from these power supplies have transients
