Project Area of Specialization Internet of ThingsProject SummarySmart Hospital Bed System (SHBS) will observe the physical activities of patient through sensors (sensors details are given) like, sleeping style, is he leaning on different sides? is patient comfortable after medicine? And the system will get complete information of patient without violating the privacy of the patient. Moreover, system will update the patient’s heath on cloud storage and Android Mobile Application will show the Fever, heartbeat, Blood Pressure, total days at hospital, medicine time, exercise time (if recommended) and other information related to the patient. In addition, whole information about patient and other processes will be controlled by the main system using windows application and that application will also show the availability of beds and doctors in the hospital. Another thing, we will use cloud storage to share the availability of doctors and beds on Android Mobile Application (we will also try to make iOS application if possible, otherwise Android Application will serve these things). In the end, we will balance the protection and availability of the system and we will secure the personal information patient.
Project ObjectivesIn our final year project (FYP) named as Smart Hospital Bed System (SHBS), we have tried to facilitate the patient, their relatives and hospital staff. The main objective of this project to reduce the waste of time in finding empty beds and available doctors in the hospital, which is beneficial for guardians, doctors and for staff. Moreover, checking of patient without any reason is much costly if any international doctor is checking. So, the patient will be checked if he/she has any problem, normal routine will be followed.
Project Implementation MethodWe will follow the Agile Development method, because we will make our project in different phases and get feedback from our supervisor and co-supervisor.
Benefits of the Project- Guardians, doctors and patients will be up to date about the health condition of the patient.
- Guardians will easily find the free beds and available doctors in the hospital.
- Guardians will also check the condition of patient through Android mobile application from everywhere.
- Unnecessary checking of patients will be reduced.
- It is also helpful for physiotherapist to monitor the patterns of the patients.
- Last and the main benefit of this project, it will reduce the time consumption.
As per our knowledge, we have planned that the sensors will interact with WI-FI module with the help of microcontrollers, the sensors for the detection of patterns are force sensing resisters, we will use two types of FSR. First is FSR 406, its square shaped resistive transducer that will make change in resistance when a certain force is applied. it will be used to check the patterns of individual parts of body. The second FSR we will use is FSR 408, it is a strip type FSR and will work same as the FSR 406 but with some different checking of patterns. Wi-Fi module ESP8266 will be used for wireless purposes. Â Certain PCBs/Arduino/Raspberry PI will be used for controlling purposes.
