These specially able communicators who don’t have the ability to hear and speak are Commonly
called deaf and dumb respectively by the society. These especially able Communicators do
communication with the help of ‘sign language’. Sign Language is defined as a language which
is produce through some simultaneous movement and orientation of hands, body and different
parts. In this project, an actual time included solution of hardware and software program is
advanced to assist the especially able human beings all across the globe to support the
conversation and interaction of such individuals, thus fostering their independence. We want to
design a sign glove glove for these special communicators in the event they have to
communicate with general population who don’t know the knowledge of their sign language
Semantics. It uses flex sensors to detect movement of figures and 3 axes Accelerometer which
help for the correction of sign. The device is programmed in such a way that it recognizes
defined gestures which are pre saved in the data base. The glove should be wear on the right
hand which will have specially designed algorithm to translate sign language into spoken English
The main objectives of our project are

? To overcome barrier between normal and mute people
? To design Arduino based system which will collect data from different sensors
? To develop a system by which deaf and dumb peoples express their feelings
? To help for increasing the percentage of mute peoples in education sectors
Project Implementation MethodThe scope of this project is to provide a framework through which the gesture can be easily
detected and can be converted into text and voice by using Arduino and different sensors. This
will increase the strength of mute people in the field of education and employment sectors. This
will assist to spread the sign language learning in the society. Therefore, to achieve this goal, we
need to manufacture it in large amount and want to make it smaller and give in proficient market
value and then we can also add different quality in that glove without gesture. These systems
identify a sign of speechless people with the assist of bend sensors and accelerometer. The used
the coding of computer running MATLAB. By using ARQ (automatic repeat request) data is
transmitted to computer and this will help to convert sign language to understandable form .
Benefits of the ProjectAs the invention and technology is advancing day by day so we require a system which will help
those disable people who cannot speak. So, our motivation is to build or design a project which
can be able to sense gesture from different finger and will convert it into voice or text. Human
beings have natural ability to see, listen and communicate with their environment. Unfortunately,
there are some peoples who cannot communicate with the people of community. They are mute
people. Such people depend on other language called sign language. Sign language is difficult to
understand for normal people. So, this project seeks to overcome the communication gap. The
main advantage of gesture to use as a input in data gloves is that the speed by which gloves
recognized the gesture is high and the input data is small in amount. Different kinds of gesture is
recognized in real time [6]. This project is step towards improving the quality of life for the deaf
and dumb people, decreasing their dependency on their friends and family by developing such
self-help devices will help them to live a better life.
