Project Title

Smart Electric Pole for Human Safety with Auto Leakage Current Detection and Load Balancing Though IOT

Project Area of Specialization

Internet of Things

Project Summary

In electric supply companies(K-Electric/Wapda)that the leakage of current

From LT/HT poles due to rain or other any faults, many human being and aniamals are effected and expired for touching of poles. In this reason we construct a smart poles, in this poles we placed a warning light ,when un-wanted current flows from poles the warning light glow and warn the people , its connected to wifi module for communicate to IBC also

b-The complain system of supply company is so complicated or time consuming ,so in this project we placed emergency call point in every PMT.

c-The main issue of electric supply company is that no  load balancing  of a circuit in this project we design load balncing device

Project Objectives

OBJECTIVES

  • Reducing of faults
  • Distribution of load equaly in every phase easily
  • Emergency call point for every PMT
  • To make a system reliable and safe

Project Implementation Method

Project implementation is the process of putting a project plan into action to produce the deliverables, otherwise known as the products or services, for clients or stakeholders. It takes place after the planning phase, during which a team determines the key objectives for the project, as well as the timeline and budget. Implementation involves coordinating resources and measuring performance to ensure the project remains within its expected scope and budget. It also involves handling any unforeseen issues in a way that keeps a project running smoothly.

There are several steps involved in implementing a project, including some planning that must occur before the implementation can begin. Here is a list of steps for implementing a project effectively:

1. Assess the project plan

In the first phase of the project cycle, it's beneficial to establish a plan that meets the expectations of management, clients and key stakeholders. Before implementing a project, assess the plan and make sure that everyone on the team understands the project deliverables. The project manager may want to hold an initial meeting to outline everyone's assigned roles and the expected timeline, as well as any project milestones that a team works toward in the implementation phase. This initial step can help to unite the project team and set a collaborative standard for work.

2. Execute the plan

With a plan in place and expectations set for the team, it's time to start work on the project. During this step, project managers want to have regular discussions with the team about their progress. Measure the project's timeline against the projected schedule and monitor resources to ensure the team has what they need to complete the project successfully. Communication is instrumental during this part of the process to keep the team aware of the project's priorities. It's also important to provide regular progress updates to the clients or key stakeholders to remain transparent about the progress during this step.

3. Make changes as needed

During any type of project, it's likely that a project manager needs to make changes during implementation, such as to address additional requests from the client or to keep the project within its scope. Make these adjustments as necessary, relying on the project plan to identify solutions. Continue to communicate with the team, asking questions to determine areas where they need more support. Be prepared to allocate more staff or resources if a project deviates from the plan. Change is a reality for many projects and how effectively a project manager implements those changes can affect the project's outcome.

Benefits of the Project

Safe  human life

In this project we construct a smart for human safety. In every rainy seasion  many people are death due to touch of faulty poles. In this project  we contruct a smart pole , in every poles we place a emergency light  when a leakage current passes through a pole a emergency light glow up and a device transfer a signal in grid or IBC for fault and operator switch off the circuit where the pole is faulty.

Load balancing through IOT

In single phase system , phase changing is very difficult and time consuming. That’s why in summer session usually one phase is over load and its jhumper is broken  again again. In this project we constructing device which we load balancing throught IOT.

Reliable system

In every ciruit the fault accur due to un balance of load and take difficulty to distribute equally load in every phase in this project we easily distribute equally load in every phase. When a fault in not occur the system is reliable.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

TECHNICAL DETAIL

Following are main components we use in this project

  • Raspberry pi
  • Wifi module

Raspberry pi

The Raspberry Pi is a tiny and affordable computer that you can use to learn programming through fun, practical projects. The operating system for all Raspberry Pi products is Linux. Linux is an open-source operating system that interfaces between the computer’s hardware and software programs. The language used with Raspberry Pi is Python – a general-purpose and high-level programming language used to develop graphical user interface (GUI) applications, websites, and web applications. One of the benefits of Raspberry Pi is that it is not necessary to have an intimate knowledge of Linux or Python before beginning a project with Raspberry Pi. In fact, the purpose of the product is to teach the system and language through engaging projects.

Wifi module

NodeMCU is open source low cost IOT platform. Since nodeMCU is open open source platform their hardware design is open for edit ,modify and build. It includes firmware which runs on the ESP8266 Wi-Fi SoC from Espressif Systems, and hardware which is based on the ESP-12 module. The firmware uses the Lua scripting language.
