Project Summary

Everyone does shopping and making it easier will give a huge benefit to public as they will have ease of access to products. Not just ease of access but also ease of usability by introducing first of its kind application which uses Augmented Reality to place hats and glasses to human faces before buying also one can check shirts and pants in back camera by standing in a frame.

This application is not just a preview of AR but also works as a store where user can buy the product they want after trying it. It solves many problem because people usually complains about how they look different when they bought the product and it looked different in the images that problem is over and now user can also try the product they want to buy.

Project Objectives

We observed a problem that most people faced while shopping that they had to change again and again to buy the product that actually match their skin tone and it consumed a lot of time of both customer and shopkeeper now shopkeeper can contact us to upload products in out database so that the user can easily try and order them with ease.

The goal of this project is to show new ways to customer and aware them how with technology everything can be simpler and effective. To make it effective we have worked hard to create an application which will help people in shopping but it wouldn’t be possible without the guidance of our supervisor Sir Abrar Ahmed.

Project Implementation Method

This project uses android camera to detect faces and apply objects such as glasses and hats on it. We detect the face using the MLKit and android built in libraries then by using bitmaps height and width of the object detected implement the objects on the detected face. Back camera uses frame in which user will adjust themselves to check the product this. This could've been a lot better if we had better smartphones because the current smartphones are not powerful enough to perform live calculations.

Benefits of the Project

The benefits of this project is the awareness of the engineering solutions possible in current times and use it to provide better basic solutions of everyday tasks. We all use our smartphones and in coming days going to shops will be obsolete for sure it has become obsolete in USA and many other countries. We are also trying to provide a way of easy solutions which can help the people of Pakistan.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

The final deliverable product is an Android Application with an Admin panel. It consist of 4 product categories for now i.e Glass, Hats, Shirts, Pants. The user can try the glass at his face and buy it from there and hats too. The user can also try the shirts and pants using a different approach and buy that too.
