In addition to offering smart devices to automate homes, IoT is essential to business. IoT provides businesses with a real-time look into how their systems really work, delivering insights into everything from the performance of machines to supply chain and logistics operations. The intelligent environment concept is defined as a small world in which sensors and network devices work continuously and together to make things more comfortable for people.

A university campus may be one of most crowded areas that every day lots of people enter and exit. Even a smallest campus is far big than a normal office. With that being said, different appliances, lights or electronic devices are operated, used or turned on. To manage these all, large number of staffs required whether to check them, turn them on or off at certain times.

As a security concern registry of students entering or exiting is mandatory task in every campus. A database might work but even typing names or IDs will take much time and also wastes students’ time.

Campuses have different or multi block and classes going on in each, a bell to indicate start or finish of classes always required and to turn them on an on-time staff that presses the bell at exam :00:00 second which is almost impossible and even doing that wastes energy and time of staff.

For better maintenance or clearing the trashes or dustbin numerous staff required to check the areas, dustbins every hour so whether to empty them or replace them.

Making notice board announcement not only requires employees to pin pages to notice board but also print pages every day which is a waste of money, energy and resources.

For the all points stated above the idea of smart contracted IoT campus will resolve all issues, barriers and challenges to main all desired necessities. A block chain smart contracted system will help students’ identification not to be used by others as well as keep record and log of each entry and exit. Converting all devices control to IoT will help to remotely/scheduled switch them on/off and also check their situation. Having automated bells, LED displayed notice boards will save time and resources.

Project Implementation Method

In initialization all ports and plugs will be identified and a map will be designed. Relays that are connected to Arduinos will be placed on board of campus's electric panel. Each Arduino is connected through Lan cable to a switch and each switch is connected to main IT room. A raspberry pi acts as server and the other one as a backup and monitoring/log of devices. 

at each entrance a RFID reader will be placed. a group of students will be given RFID card and their name, semester other details will be printed for identification which data of it is stored in blockchain linked online. after reading each RFID a transaction will be created and a message for smart contract approval will be sent to student's personal device/mobile after approval the student will be given entry and its attendance/entry to campus will be marked. 

for the blocks of campus bells will be controlled and wired to one Arduino that receives command from main raspberry pi to turn-on at scheduled timing which is set by dashboard admin panel. 

every notice board which is a LED display attached to doors of classes indication name of class or its timing if it’s in progress otherwise showing free class which the schedule for that is already set in database through dashboard.

at certain timing certain devices will be automatically turned on or off. Like AC of a class in case a class going on or it would turn of if class ended. same for other appliances/lights.

campus will be covered with dustbins that have an indicator LED light for showing the capacity used or free capacity and once full a message will be shown on dashboard panel with its detail and position.
