Project Summary

A safe and healthy institute/workplace not only protects and gives a comfortable environment to  the students, teachers or workers, it can also lower injury or illness costs, reduce criminal attacks  and turnovers, increase productivity and quality, and raise students and employee morale. As we  know that safety of our students and employees are always our priority. This app will be used to enhance the safety of students, staff and faculty on campus. This project idea is to create an app  for students, staff and faculty on the campus that would be helpful for all of them. It would be a  guide for the students /employees, safety information, tips and some other features.

Project Objectives

Work on a project that is practically helpful towards society and contribute to its wellbeing. Target of the app would be to provide guidance, tips and emergency helpline to the students  and safety to the employees and students in the university.  To design and implement a working application that fulfills those requirements and  objectives.  

Project Implementation Method

• We are using android studio as an IDE.
• For backend , we are using  Java and PHP.
• For Frontend , we are using  Java and XML.
• SQL for database and for data scrapping ,python will be used.

FJWU Safe will be an essential tool that will send safety alerts and provide instant access  to campus safety resources. It will provide
Ease of access to security, a solution for the safety of our workplace, institutes by giving a comfortable and secure  environment. as well as provide various security features  like 

> User can make a call to any of the  emergency number through the app. It may include region security as well as campus  security contacts. 

> User will be able to locate safest and shortes route from entered source to destination. Paths having surveillance camera will be marked as safe. User will be provided with all the possible paths from source to destination with markings of cameras and route length. It will be his choice to select any path.
> using safe walk features, location will be sent to a selected contact  who can have a watch on you till destination is reached. On reaching destination, it  will give notification to the contact and finish the trip. In case of emergency user  can tap a button to notify the contact and give an emergency call.  

> user can also report any incident, criminal activity or theft  etc., to the security either by call, message or through the app. 

> if a student is working alone in the campus, he will use the feature of work alone. By activating this, user will be required to provide a check in after intervals.  If he fails to check in within 5 minutes an emergency call will be forwarded to  campus security or to emergency contact, the way user has opted for. Otherwise,  when you are leaving, and work is done safely it will end as per your scheduled  time. 

> User will be able to see evacuation  plans of university, can have list of important phone numbers, and other safety  measures. This feature will be available offline. 

> If user or another person nearby needs medical assistance, he can tap First Aid to  be connected to the medical center of campus or campus security. A member from  the center will come to the location to provide first aid, they will call an ambulance  if required. 

> With CrimeLocator feature user will be able to see crime history of a location. Different types  and numerical data of crime happened at that location will be displayed. Moreover,  statistical analysis of crime history will be displayed with respect to a route  selected.
