Smart attendance system using WIFI
Project Area of Specialization Information & Communication TechnologyProject SummaryRecent advancements in wireless technologies have evolved the growth of smart systems in day-to-day life. Nowadays, people are using Wi-Fi connectivity for accessing the Internet or local hub inside the home or office. Keeping this NFC in our mind, we will be designing and developing a smart phone-based checking system for monitoring employee attendance through Wi-Fi signals. Our system consists of two types of dedicated participants i.e., admin and employee. This system will identify a registered employee whenever the employee enters into the covered area and matches the Static IP address and will send a notification to the server, at that current time Employee will submit this then the attendance is marked.
Project ObjectivesSeveral types of smart attendance systems were invented before. As an example: Beacon-based attendance system, Bluetooth-based attendance, using QR for code scan for attendance.
However, this all system has some shortage for use.
Many smart systems are developed based on face recognition.
Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) framework needs EEG equipment. Need labor to proceed with the sight and sound. Hardware is expensive and tremendous.
There are several Radio Frequency Identification based attendance system like web-based attendance, the framework advances a semi-mechanized methodology catching the understudy participation, so there have many more costs. In fingerprint attendance system students press their fingers on system when class is running so anybody can feel disturbed.
Our Software-based framework does not require labor and does not bother with any sort of equipment. Face recognition smart attendance system cannot detect face if face distance is many more when low light of image the system cannot work. In our proposed system, users will not face these kinds of problems. The main advantage of this system is to work in real-time, if and only ifthe Wi-Fi connection is appropriate.
Project Implementation MethodPossibility of NFC implementation:
NFC devices can be used in conjunction with image display devices like digital photo frames for displaying images quickly. This can be used with a traditional RFID access control system as a replacement for the key fobs and cards currently used.NFC has a shorter range than RFID. It gives more security features because there won’t be any unauthorized communication taking place. Another advantage is the low power consumption and security concerns. In this project, we used static IP for the attendance system. when we used static IP that it can never be changed.
Benefits of the Project- No extra infrastructure is required
- Low cost as compared to other attendance systems
- Use for attendance purposes in universities, schools, colleges, and office systems
- Real-time tracking
- Increased Productivity
Static IP:-
An Internet Protocol (IP) address is a unique number assigned to each computer on a network. Just as a street address determines where a letter should be delivered, an IP address identifies computers on the Internet. If your computer is hosting a web server, its IP address is what identifies it to the rest of the Internet.
NFC (Near Field Communication):-
Near Field Communication (NFC) is a standards-based short-range wireless connectivity technology that makes life easier and more convenient for consumers around the world by making it simpler to make transactions, exchange digital content, and connect electronic devices with a touch. NFC is compatible.NFC devices can be used in conjunction with image display devices like digital photo frames for displaying images quickly.
