A project “titled SMS based alert system for parents” will do the job when a child will be absent from his / her school the
system will generate automatic sms to the registered mobile of the parent so that the parent of the student may be informed on time.
In this system, we use SMS for alerting the student’s parent, that your child is absent, while taking attendance of students in class,
Smart SMS system will take student name, father name and him/her father/guardian mobile number and create appropriate message
to send. This system will help the parents that their children are in class or absent
Project ObjectivesMain object of our project is to prevent absentenism behaviour of the students and timely inform the parents.
Increase good communication environment between parents, admin, and teachers.
Project Implementation MethodThe results from Usability Testing show positive feedback from the participants. This research is significant for the management and parents where the system can help the management to monitor students’ attendance by keying in the data of the absent students and when the absenteeism exceeds the allowable level, the lecturers will give warning letters to the students. The parents can also be notified about the students via SMS notification.
Benefits of the ProjectRecording the attendance is an important task for lecturers in the university in order to monitor the absenteeism in the classroom.
Attendance monitoring is recognized as an important element in supporting both students’ retention and performance.
It is an effective way of identifying any problems at an early stage and can offer students the appropriate support.
Technical Details of Final DeliverableEducation can only fulfill its promise as the great equalizer, a force that can overcome differences in privilege and background. When we work to ensure that students are in university every day and receive the supports, they need to learn and thrive. At the same time, we know that many students experience tremendous adversity in their lives including poverty, health challenges, community violence, and difficult family circumstances that make it difficult for them to take advantage of the opportunity to learn at university.
Students who are chronically absent meaning they miss at least 15 days of school in a year are at serious risk of falling behind in school. Yet, for too long, this crisis in our nation's public elementary and secondary schools has not been fully understood. The data from the various sources is drawn from nearly every public school in the country and helps us understand who is chronically absent, at what grade levels chronic absenteeism tends to occur, and how chronic absenteeism compares community-by-community and state-by-state.
