Under fast-paced life conditions, everyone is busy in their life including parents. The mothers have to manage the house and take care of their babies simultaneously. The mothers may forget some important tasks because of their routine that is schedule according to their babies.

Some baby monitoring systems have been designed that monitor the baby conditions and inform mothers via mobile messages or an application. But the mother has to look many times to the phone to be updated from the incoming information.

So, there is a need of such a system that assist mothers by voice and store information in the memory for future use. To overcome this problem, an automatic IoT-based mother assistant and baby monitoring system is need to be designed, allowing the mothers to access the baby’s condition anywhere and anytime and perform other house chores side by side.

This project is related to assist the mother in variety of tasks. Mother will get help in taking care of her baby as well as keeps her posted as per set schedule. Parents don’t have to watch screen all the time to have an eye on their baby rather voice command will help them to ask something or they will be informed about certain scenario.

Project Objectives

To design an IOT based system that will help the mothers to take a trip down memory lane and keep tabs on different activities of baby.

Project Implementation Method

The design of smartness & innovation comes with the use of methodologies which include different technologies. In order to assist mothers to keep an eye on their babies and to perform house chores simultaneously, different Sensors/Modules are used to detect baby’s condition.

A Camera for live video footage which will help the mother to be alert if something unexpected happens. Cry Detection Circuit to analyze Cry Patterns. Alexa will be there to remind mothers about the tasks to be performed. It will be able to store some events and recall them to user when it is required. With a simple voice command, Alexa can set alarms, reminders, play melody, answer questions, search the internet, and control smart home devices.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) provides am online platform for Alexa Skills development. Different skills will be developed using this that can be used on Alexa Devices. Different tools & technologies are used like Internet of Things (IOT) (Modules like Arduino UNO, Humidity & Temperature sensing, Sound Sensing), Cry Detecting Mechanism, Live Video Surveillance,Alexa.

Benefits of the Project

This project has applications in real world. It can used in different orphan nursing homes where many children are to look after them. It can be used in hospitals for infant children. It will be applicable in homes for helping mothers even if they are doing other house chore or not present physically.
