In today’s world, with increasing approach in technology, various music players have been developed having different advanced features i.e. fast forward, shuffling, speed controls, variable play back and playback with multi cast stream. These features fulfill the basic requirements of the user but still user needs to search and browse the music to listen according to the user’s mood. As one usually listens to music according to his or her mood and behavior. The introduction of emotion based music player in the traditional music applications will omit the mess of the searching and browsing the music according to the current mood instead it will automatically present a playlist of the related songs by identifying the emotions of the user.
The conventional music players introduced earlier are usually offering random shuffling, play back effects, speed controls, random selection of songs, they are not automating the song selection according to the user. This emotion-based music player will automatically process and judge the user’s mood and asses the requirement and produce a list according to the user’s requirement and interest, without any use of external gadgets or hardware as EEG (electroencephalogram) or sensors. Instead,our product recognizes facial expressions of the user, extract emotions from that and generates a playlist based on the emotions extracted.
The model takes a picture as input and detects face from that picture. If there is only one face in the picture then it will just predict emotions of that face.
If there are multiple faces then the face that is closest to the camera will be considered. This then crops the face from the picture. The cropped picture is
then compressed to 48 x 48 pixels and converted from RGB to Grayscale. Then this compressed grayscale image is passed on to our pre-trained model. The
model gives us predictions from 7 emotions ie angry,disgust,fear, happy, sad, surprise, neutral.
The project is targeted to give an android application that will be useful for the users for changing their mood by the music. The music will be recomended and played without users much involvement.
An android application that will be running on the more than 95% available android devices (latest).
