SAAF Smart System for Visually Impaired Persons
Project Area of Specialization Internet of ThingsProject SummaryPeople influenced by visual deficiency and visual ailments need assistance to triumph over daily assignments, such as moving and exploring unfamiliar environments [1]. Recent statistics from the World Health Organization have shown that approximately 253 million people in the world are visually impaired, from which 217 million have a slight vision, whereas 36 million are blind [2]. The problem is becoming a matter of concern because the number of visually impaired is increasing by 2 million per decade. An estimation has shown that the number of blind people may be doubled in 2020 [3]. Blindness is the imbalance of physiological or neurological components that is called the condition of lacking discernment. Despite numerous evolutions in innovation, blindness remains a critical issue [4], [5]. Researchers have been focusing on this issue to develop supportive tools or assistants for visually impaired people (VIP).
In this system we will design two systems merged together like if any Visually Impaired Person is at home then he/she may perform several tasks like watering plants, locking / unlocking door, turning On/OFF heating / cooling system being seated by just playing a simple music tone that will be enable all these systems. Second system is for educational purpose that VIP may be able to learn at home with TEXT to SPEECH recognition system.

Project ObjectivesTo target Visually Impaired Persons in order to provide better facilities as they are a part ofour society
To allow cosiness to Visually Impaired Persons
To make sure that the Visually Impaired Persons be able to perform multiple talks simulataneously without much effort
To let the Visually Impaired Persons learn at home using SPEECH to TEXT recognition System
Project Implementation MethodAfter successful completion of the proposed system we will test and implement ths proposed system on Visually Impaired Persons which are available in our surroundings.
As the proposed system willbe completed we will let the Visually Impaired Person to let us knowexactly are his needs in terms of his daily schedules then we will incorporate those in the proposed system and then let that Visually Impaired Person to operate the proposed system and get results. In this way we will have a real implementation of how a system that is targetted for Visually Impaired Persons can actually be implemented for them.
Benefits of the ProjectDoctors, Pjysician, Scientists and Researchers are ficuusing on the research towardsbetterment of Visually Impaired Persons so this is an initiative that evidentlywill target Visually Impaired Persons.
This proposed system will use state of the art technology like Internet of Things (IoT) in order to design and develop a system that helps the Visually Impaired Persons to over come the feeling that they can not perform multiple tasks on a single time.
Technical Details of Final DeliverableIn the end we will deliver a smart smart for Visually Impaired People
It will help Visually Impaired People in two aspects
1: Let them do multiple function just sitting on one place and without any effort
2: Education them at home without effort
This system will use Internet as its core technology.1and TEXT to SPEECH as second
This will be complete hardware with coding in Raspberry Pi
