Project Area of Specialization RoboticsProject Summaryour project is based on hand gesture controlled robotic arm. As we know that in today life the robots are used in everywhere. This project is made by using the flex sensor, MPU6050 sensor, Arduino nano/UNO and the robotic hand is made from the mechanical 3D printer and servo motors. This robot is able to perfume different motions such as right, left, upward, downward and also able to pic and place the object from one place to another. This project is look same as crane. It is used in many places such as transferring the chemicals or bomb, used in industry where it is used to move object and it reduce the workload and also used by paralyzed people who cannot move hand easily.
Project ObjectivesThis project is about to build a system which make the human work easy. The aim of our project is to design the project within the given time. The main objectives of our project are:
- To design robotic arm which is controlled by human hand to perform different tasks
- To design sensors module for control the movements of hand
- To design robotic arm which perform same functions as the human arm can do
- To design Arduino nano/UNO programming-based robot to achieved the desired goal
- To design robotic arm which is control through glove which consists MPU6050 sensors and flex sensors
- To check the accuracy of robotic arm regarding the movement of hand
The main aim of our project is to design the robotic arm which is controlled by human hand. The movements of hand can be controlled by using different sensors and this can be programmed through Arduino Nano/UNO. This project has two sections:
- Hand glove
- Robotic arm
The hand glove consists the MPU6050 gyroscope sensor and flex sensor. The MPU is depend on the micro mechanical system. It is a sensor which has 3 axis gyroscope and accelerometer. It has a build-in temperature sensor. This sensor is attached with the glove and used to find the velocity, acceleration, distance and direction. This MPU is connected with Arduino Nano/UNO which is further connected with motors to control the movements of robotic arm. The flex sensor is work like a variable resistor and in this project, it is used as sensor which control the gripping of the robotic arm. When the sensor is bent so the flex sensor changes the resistance. In this when the flex sensor is bent which is attached with hand glove so the gripper attached with servo motor open and close the gripper. Another part of this project is robotic arm which is attached with servo motors and it is made through 3D printer. The servo motors are connected at joint point of robotic arm and it can be programmed through the Arduino Nano/UNO. This robotic arm move, pick and place the objects same as the hand glove will do. This project programming will be done through the Arduino. This project looks like a crane which is control through human hand.
Benefits of the ProjectThe robotic arm has a wide scope of development and in the future in and the robotic arm will be able to perform the different tasks which the human arm can do. It can be very useful in the industry where we decrease the human workload by controlling robotic arm, we able to move the objects from one place to another, it can be a real boon for the paralyzed people or handicapped people who are not able to move the hand and it can be used in different places to perform different tasks and make work easy. This robot is able to work on the commands which is received from the controller or human hand. By making this project wireless so this can be used in many places, simply it can work same as human hand can do. The robotic arm has many ways to implement and it is more versatile.
Technical Details of Final DeliverableThe components which are used in our project are Arduino nano/UNO,MPU6050,flex sensors,servo motors,breadboard,connecting wires,hand glove,resistor,power supply.
