At  present,  there  are  the  two  mainly  methods  to  measure  vehicle  load:static  measuring  and  dynamic measuring.  The  regular vehicle  detecting  station, one  of static  measuring  methods, is simple  but also get  a  accurate  result,  which  is  commonly  knows  as  truck  scales[1].  The  ruck  scales  demands  vehicle to  be  at  some  fixed  point,  and  measures  inefficient.  Dynamic  measuring  is  able  to  measure  load information  of  the  vehicle  in  real  time,  among  which,  technology  of  monitoring  system  for  vehicle overloading  based  on  paste-type  strain  sensor  is  the  maturational  one.  The  system  used  paste-type strain  sensor  that  installed  in  vehicle  leaf  spring  to  obtain  load  on  the  leaf  spring[2].  But  the disadvantage  of  the  system  is  the  damage  of  the  vehicle-bridge,  because  the  paste-type  strain  gauge must  be  installed  in  vehicle  leaf.  In  addition,investigating  different  vehicle-bridges  physical  form, finding  the  correct  situation  for  the  sensor  and  load  calibration  according  to  the  test,  the  system  is  not universal.  Analyzing  the  method  mentioned  above,  the  vehicle  load  measuring  contradiction  is between  the  accuracy  of  the  static  measuring  and  convenience  of  the  dynamic  measuring[3],  so,  it come to method of  vehicle  load monitoring  system  based on ultrasonic  sensors. 

Project Objectives

Overloading  the  impact  on  traffic  safety,    measuring  the  deformation  of  leaf  spring  form the  start,  a  vehicle  load  measuring  system  was  designed  based  on  ultrasonic  sensors.  In  this  article, the  mathematics  model  of  steel  plate  deformation  and  load  is  discussed  upon  the  mechanics  principle and  obtain  the  relationship  of  load  and  deformation.  Processing  the  data  that  the  ultrasonic  sensors measured  by  single-chip  and  using  temperature  sensor  to  compensate,  it  comes  to  the  result  of  vehicle load.According  to  the  test,  the  system  achieved  the  purpose  of  real  time  measurement  of  vehicle  load, and it  is useful.   

Project Implementation Method

Overall  scheme  of  the  system.  Between  car  body  and  axle,  there  is  a  leaf  spring,  which  offers good performance  for  shock absorption.  When the  vehicle  is under  load,  tire  will  be  deformed under the  force  of  stress.  As  a  result,  the  distance  between  the  vehicle-bridges  and  ground  will  be  shorter. The  ultrasonic  sensors is  installed in vehicle  suspension,  using  the  time that  ultrasonic  from lunch  to return  to  obtain  the  distance  between  the  vehicle-bridges  and  ground,  combining  with  the  information of  each  sensors,  computes  the  load  of  the  vehicle.

Benefits of the Project

when boom amplitude limit close to work, work when lifting load and torque device close to the permitted load limit, the system output torque control signal to stop the crane continue to continue to run in the direction of risk, allow crane moves in the direction of security.
