Project Summary

In Pakistan, waste is generated to extreme level and according to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Pakistan generates around 20 million tons of solid waste annually and this figure grows by 2.4 per cent each year and the biggest concern for the individuals of Pakistan is that there is no proper method is implemented to dispose it due to which the environment becomes more polluted and effects the health of everyone. Therefore, we are presenting a tremendous idea to solve this problem in a digitalized way.  

For this purpose, the project Reuse n Reduce works on waste product that includes garbage. The aim of the project is to keep environment clean and healthier and to dispose wastage in a digitalized way. 

The project will register industries so that users can easily contact them for selling their waste. The project deals with two parties one is the seller(user) that wants to sell their wastage and other one is the buyer (industry) that buy their wastage. A huge collection of wastage appears on the center of the page with images on project’s website and application. The user can choose the category of waste from Hazardous or Non-Hazardous and can do online payment easily. Chat section is also available to create strong connection between a buyer and a collector. For safe and secure delivery of the wastage/product to industries there is also the availability of online tracking system. This is the solution we find to reduce waste and reuse it by industries.

Project Objectives

The purpose of the project is connecting the two parties waste seller and waste buyer in a more convenient and in digitalized way. This project is a single platform for dealing the whole procedure of disposal of wastage by connecting the buyers to sellers. 

The project is considerate to provide Industries, house, educational institutes information to users who wants to buy the wastage from users, so that the users can easily contact with them to sell their waste. 

The Reuse n Reduce project will meet the following objectives:

  • It develops best practice in the recycling industry by promoting: Health & Safety standard.
  • Provision of an option for online transaction that will be helpful for users and buyers.
  • Adding different types of sellers not only industries or companies for selling their waste.
  • The application represents and promotes the recycling industry for the benefit of all Members of the Association.
  • Decrease solid waste generation.
  • Increase reuse and reduce concept by recycling it.

Project Implementation Method

The project Reuse n Reduce deals with those individuals who have the wastage and they want to sell their wastage to the organization/industry who want to buy generously from them and produce some out box and tremendous materials from their used materials.

The project will be implementing by using programming languages with Inductive sensors, Capacitive sensors, Arduino, and camera. The project will be functioning through the website, web Application and mobile Application where users can easily contact the industries to sell their wastage. 

The project Reuse n Reduce deals with sensors which detect the dustbins which are full of the wastage. 

This project will also let us know that the dustbins are full at a certain location , then it will generate notification on mobile application to check the dustbins and then contact to the industries which are registered in the application so that their drivers will pick the wastage which are good in condition and deliver to the industry and for the secure delivery of wastage.

  •  The project is a simple way in which every person contributes to making a better world.
  •  Saves purchasing and disposal costs.
  •  Recycling helps conserve important raw materials and protects natural habitats for the future.
  • Using recycled materials in the manufacturing process uses considerably less energy than that required for producing new products from raw materials.
  •  Recycling saves energy it also reduces greenhouse gas emissions, which helps to tackle climate change. 
  • When we reuse, recyclable materials are reprocessed into new products and as a result the amount of rubbish sent to landfill sites reduces.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

  • A web application of the project by using a python or JavaScript language which will operate on any modern device
  • The project will also their website availability for users which will be create by using HTML, CSS and PHP programming languages.
  • Availability of mobile application is also the technical part the project. The Android studio is the main tool for the development of the project’s mobile application
  • The dustbin with sensor containing categorize waste that generate an alarm and notify the user ,the bin is full so clean it for reuse it and has proper monitoring of all the bins.
