Resource management in UAV assisted vehicles to infrastructure communication.
In certain phenomena, the vehicles density on highways increases. For instance, Sunday night or Monday morning, and it seems to be quite difficult for Road Side Units (RSUs) to serve them. In this scenario we can call often Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) to come that area and start serving some of the vehicles. The resources will be shared between the RSUs and UAVs.
However, this gives rise to interference between channels of both UAV and RSU. This conflict of interest can be tackled by using Resource allocation techniques.
In dense areas, the vehicles can’t be served by Road Side Units (RSUs) only. The resources are often lost due to improper resources management and resource allocation. Our objectives of this proposal is to come out optimal solution, to provide a better resources allocation management and methodology for both UAVs as well as Road Side Units (RSUs).
Methodology for Implementation of Project:
To properly implement our project, we will first select the criteria for allocating vehicles to UAVs, and allocating vehicles to RSUs. That criteria can be based on Euclidean’s distance formula, and energies of the vehicles. Some vehicle’s energy can be lowered than which are allocated to UAVs, and some one’s energy will be high which can be allocated to RSUs. The criteria can be also based on ‘path loss model’ because in ground to ground (G-to-G) communication, there is more path loss than ground to air (G-to-A) communications. We will also model the proposed protocol based on resource allocation, methods, and mathematical models. We have some mathematical models, which are used for resources allocation. Depending upon these criteria, we will modify that models for our scenario, and we will create our own models. Further we will implement the proposed model on MATLAB software, because we have different commands, different types of programming and a lot of features in MATLAB software.
Utilization of Project Results
As the number of vehicles increases day by day, and it is quite difficult for only Road Side Unit (RSUs) to manage the traffic and maintain the quality of services. We can implement this project in Motorway’s toll plaza were we have more numbers of vehicles on certain condition such as on Sunday night or in Monday morning. In these situation the vehicles can also be serve by UAVs for internet provision, to overcome this issue.
For the implementation arrangement of our proposed methodology or model we will use MATLAB software in which we have different types of parameters, such as packet delivery ratio as well as delay. Due to these parameters in MATLAB we can assess, our resource allocation management protocol does not suffer from packet loss as well as more delay.
