Use of Tube Wells is very common in rural areas as most people are “cultivators”. They need a proper mechanism of watering their crops.
In Pakistan, there are total 85868 Electric Tube Wells out of which 61931 are only in Punjab (Source: Pakistan Agricultural Machinery Census – 2004).
RemoteWell shall provide a platform for cultivators to reduce strain on themselves through daily grinding of manually watering their crops using tube wells. Since watering the crops consumes great amount of time, resources and physical labor in today’s era of advancement and technology, our system shall provide relief for cultivators to control tube wells through remote access, powering, scheduling, and
monitoring the usage. The Admin panel shall be managing all the authorization requests coming from the customers and monitor the business analytics for respective tube wells as well.
Following are the objectives:
1. To reduce strain on cultivators incurred by grinding through manual tube well usage.
2. To make innovations in the field of traditional cultivating
process.
3. To make use of business analytics as much clear as possible.
4. Using advanced technologies to cope with the latest
development in IT.
The purpose of building the RW project is to make the lives of cultivators as much easy as possible by controlling the water tube wells, remotely, using Internet of Things (IoT). The project is based on Android platform which is integrated with Raspberry Pi and associated with cloud services (Firebase) that communicate through a GSM Module, embedded on the Raspberry Pi for internet connectivity. The RW will be accessible from all the Mobile devices (Android) with the RW Application installed.
The RemoteWell system is brand new venture. There is currently no product in the market that responds to controlling water tube wells, remotely. Therefore, RemoteWell has every bit of potential to capture the underserved market. This project caters to an underrepresented audience in the Android market. An audience that struggles with managing the hectic routine of watering crops through time consuming, manual work.
Cultivators are the target audience/users of RW application and can perform Powering ON/OFF and Scheduling of tube wells as well as Monitoring the resources consumption whilst Admins will be monitoring their activities in terms of Business Analytics, Verifications and Authorizations.
The following functions shall be included:
1. Signup/Log in and Verification
2. Power ON/OFF Tube Well
3. Schedule Water Timing
4. Check Power Consumption
5. Notifications / Exceptions
6. Check Weather Forecast
7. Business Analytics
When the customer opens the application, the login page should be displayed if not already logged in. If the customer is not registered, there should be the option to register. If the customer is already logged in then the Customer Panel will be displayed. Customer will have a Profile page where they can edit their information. The Customer interface shall be compatible with any android smartphone (running ver. 4.4+) whereas the Admin interface must be running on a supporting web browser.

10. Web page for the Admin to see Business Analytics
The integrated HW/SW device shall be implemented on the tube wells of cultivators (one device per tube well). The cultivators shall be able to control their tube wells through the provided Android Application, making their life, a bit more on the easier, tech savvy, and evolutionary side.
