Project Summary In these testing times, health should be a priority. Good health is one of the most important assets of every individual. However, maintaining good health is increasingly becoming challenging. Going to doctors, taking various tests, and waiting for their results is very hectic nowadays. 

Although technology has evolved, we have developed various health gadgets that do this for us. However, still a long way to go. Regular health checkups are a key to maintaining a healthy life, and these medical gadgets help keep a check on your vital parameters. Keeping medical equipment at home help in managing chronic conditions efficiently and save a life in the hour of need; for such purpose, the proposed solution will automatically collect a patient’s vital signs using an apple watch and update them to the database, which means the patient does not need to describe the readings and conditions to the doctors manually. They have their medical profiles maintained where patients would be able to read, study and analyze their medical conditions at any time and place. Through the remote patient treatment app, the patient will be able to search for doctors around Pakistan, as this can be a difficult task if the project does not exist. Imagine searching for a qualified and authentic doctor with a good amount of experience in the required field. It can be a headache to search for such a doctor online, and nowadays, many people are getting scammed. Nevertheless, with the help of remote patient treatment, a patient can find the majority of authentic and specialized doctors with one search. Once the patient has found the right doctor for them, they can open the doctor’s profile and check the experience of the doctor and the consultation fees. Moreover, once the doctor is finalized, the patient can click the chat button to initiate the chat with the doctor. The patients will also have the privilege to send the health data readings taken from the apple watch directly to the doctor in the chat.   

Project Objectives

A lot of work has been done to develop such tools that help the patients. However, in terms of assessments, in most cases, the available applications do not cover the topic of real-time health readings. We aim to develop a system that benefits the patients and doctors, the patients will not have to travel long distances just to get a routine checkup nor will the doctor have to deal with an extreme crowd in the clinics. Our project will mainly focus on the following objectives:

1. The patients will be able to upload medical records to the application.

2. The patients can search for a doctor from the listed doctors.

3. Once the doctor is found the patients can view the doctor’s profile.

4. The doctor and the patient can send medical records in the chat as an attachment.

5. The patient can get real-time health readings taken from the apple watch and send them to the doctor in the chat.

6. The doctor can view the real-time health reading received from the patient in the chat along with other health records.

Project Implementation Method

Our system helps Patients save a good amount of time they usually spend while going to the doctor and waiting in long queues for routine checkups. Firstly, the patient will search for the required doctor from the listed doctors and initiate a one-to-one session. Some functionality for the patients are listed:

• Real-time health data readings.

• Upload health records on the system.

• Build and maintain a profile.

• View all the previous doctors with whom the patient has interacted.

Above are the functionality of the patients. The doctor can view the patient profile once the patient has initiated a chat session with the doctor where the patient can send health-related documents or images in the form of attachments. As well as send health readings directly pulled from the apple watch.

Benefits of the Project

• Remote Patient Treatment system will benefit both patient and doctor in terms of time.

• Patients will be able to directly contact and communicate with the doctor while being anywhere thus eliminating the need for long travel.

• Doctors can easily conduct a one-to-one session with the patient from the system.

• Patients can upload and view health records in the system.

• Patients can perform assessments anywhere and anytime they want.

• Patients can share the health data pulled directly from the apple watch to the doctor without the need of going to the clinic for a routine checkup.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

The final deliverable of " Remote Patient Treatment" will be an ios based application along with documentation manual having all technical details of the application. It will be developed in Swift along with Firebase Firestore database. We will work with HealthKIT framework to pull the real-time health readings from the apple watch. The application will be compatible with ios version 14.5 and above.
