Project Area of Specialization Internet of ThingsProject SummaryThe project we are making can be defined as the system used for monitoring physiological signals that includes the parameters like body temperature, Pulse rate and Blood Oxygen etc.
These systems are used for practice of medical and public health with the help of mobile devices. These monitoring systems can be used on site or remotely. We made a hardware plus software based project. The Hardware is a watch which detects the body temperature, blood oxygen and body temperature of a person and send the data to the firebase cloud and mobile application we designed so that the body temperature, blood oxygen and body temperature of a person can be observed constantly.
Most of the project we have found on our survey are for ECG and heart care only ,for which we need electrodes and staff and those which are not for ECG are mostly wireless and portable but are not application based.
So our project is different in this way that is does NOT give ECG but is gives body temperature, Blood Oxygen and Pulse Rate (which is similar to ECG but instead of line it gives a digital number).
It will detect Heart Stork and Fits and Seizures and will keep and log of the patient’s that at which time the readings changed and how much did they changed.
The device will be connected to hand and will be light weighted so can be easily carry and will give proper readings on mobile application all time
Project Implementation MethodFirst we did research on internet about E-health Monitoring system, so we decided to do some innovation and we think of the project which include a mobile app and all patient reading in digital form. To do this we buy the sensors of body temperature, heart beat and blood oxygen and interconnect with NODEMCU which includes Wi-Fi module to send the data over cloud database and we use Firebase cloud storage to store the logs and the mobile which we also design to fetch all the data from Firebase cloud storage and display it on mobile screen
Benefits of the Project- Real time data collection of a patient
- Light weight hardware so that patient does not feel very hard to carry
- If any readings go over or under the range defined it will immediately send the SOS message to the observer mobile application so it can be a lifesaving project
- Very helpful for the patients having heart problem
- Our project can also be used to detect early symptoms of COVID-19 as it will detect oxygen rate and temperature of anyone wearing it.
Our final deliverable was a hardware which will embedded in a watch the sensors which are LM35-Oxygen Sensor , MAX30100-Heart rate and Blood Oxygen Sensor combined connected with ESP8266 NodeMCU which will collect the readings from all the sensors and send it over firebase cloud storage and our mobile application was coded in language javascript will fetch the data from firebase cloud storage and show the accurate readings on the screen
