Project Title

Real Time OBD-II Car Diagnostic System

Project Area of Specialization Internet of ThingsProject Summary In our system we propose design and development of a “Real Time Car Diagnostic App” using OBD II reader. The system aims to measure speed, distance and fuel consumption of vehicles for tracking and analysis purposes. An OBD II reader is designed to measure speed and mass air flow, from which distance and fuel consumption are also computed. This data is then transmitted via Wi-Fi to a remote server. A database management system is implemented at the remote server for the storage and management of transmitted data and a graphical user interface (GUI) is developed for analysing the transmitted data. Various qualification tests are conducted to verify the functionality of the system. The results demonstrate that the system is capable of reading the various parameters, and can successfully process, transmit and display the readings. OBD II readers have mostly been utilised for diagnostic purposes identifying and reporting speci?c vehicle faults. With the advent of various mobile technologies, wireless communication. The impact of driving behaviour on fuel consumption was measuring various parameters using a Bluetooth or Wireless Interface. An Android application was used to view the parameters measured for analysis. The measured data was then sent to a web-based remote server. Project Objectives Project Implementation Method WebApp Implementation: Scrum methodology create sprint of task and to do's.

Sprint 1: Create API on Node js(Registeration, login etc)                      And  Design Webpages on Html , Scss etc.

Sprint 2 : Fron-End Development on Angular

Sprint 3 : Integration the routes assign throug middle ware.

Hardware Implementation:One needs to create a new architecture to accomplish the feat of translation. The Mobile Wireless Unit will be responsible for reading any and all messages from the vehicle?s OBD-II port and translating these messages to "signals", thus eliminating the ambiguity of understanding which protocol is being used on the Vehicle Benefits of the Project Technical Details of Final Deliverable Project outcome:Among all the technological and conceptual challenges faced in this project there is one above all, which is meant to serve the common man by use of the mobile phone. Android based application is used to give the access to users to control the view their which is used to control the (ECU’s) of the cars like fuel consumption, speed of car, engine RPM, engine temperature, battery voltage level, ABS brake condition etc. when the cars have any issue or if they required any maintenance then an alert is generated on the site. Which provides knowledge to the users about the cars. Database is used in this project to store the record of the authorized users, record of cars and data of mobile. Relatively inexpensive and continuous measurement of driving behavior and vehicle use, which is otherwise difficult to observe. More accurate and objective data about driving.
